One of these days some enterprising con artist is going to make up a fake quirky little sci-fi movie, claim that it's been fully produced but Warner Bros. permanently shelved it for a tax writeoff, raise a couple million dollars in crowdfunding to "buy back the rights", then disappear off the face of the planet and take the money with them, and they'll 100% get away with it because really, who are we going to believe?

No, this is not [insert name of putative Tumblr scam here]. The critical pillar of this particular grift is that we're not offering to make a movie – the promised reward allegedly already exists in complete and deliverable form, and we're merely raising funds to liberate it from the clutches of the current rights-holder. There's no chance of production failures putting a spike in the project timeline because all of the actual work is already done. See? It's practically risk free!

My niece had wanted to see the puppies tonight but I had to explain that they were still at home because they had tummy aches (white lie). And she wanted to know why.

@wolfchanw : Well, they went to the doctor today to have surgery to remove their testicles and now they have tummy aches

Niece: *thinking hard* Sometimes, when I go to the doctor and he removes MY testicles I get a tummy ache too!

To say I nearly died laughing....

show your fat partner off goddamn. take them around town on dates and kiss them. hold their hands and tell them they’re the hottest person in the room. check them out when they get up and walk around, show ur friends ur hot as fuck partner, show them off goddamn. If you ain’t comfortable valuing someone fat the same way you would value someone skinny you are being brainwashed by a manipulative and hateful social norm

🔹 Saying that it's okay to write or read about dark and taboo topics but only when they're portrayed in a certain way is still censorship.

🔹 Wanting to ban or forbid media that you believe portrays a negative topic in a positive light, by glorifying, romanticizing, or fetishizing it is still censorship.

🔹 There is no objective metric to decide if a story is portraying a negative topic the 'right' way.

🔹 Just because a piece of fiction doesn't explicitly condemn or portray an evil action in a bad light in the text doesn't mean the author thinks its good or is trying to persuade the audience that it is good.

🔹 Survivors of trauma will not always write fiction about their trauma in a way that seems 'right' or 'normal' to you.

🔹 Banning fiction because it portrays dark, taboo topics in a way you consider gross or disgusting is still censorship.

3 seconds into dungeon meshi and they’re already living my dream. i love eating things I ought not in unfamiliar ecosystems

one time in undergrad we went to this big farm & greenhouse where they were cultivating rare & endangered plants and during the tour the botanist let us all taste a leaf off of a particular plant & I was like oh some of these are edible!

so we got to the next plant and when he took questions I asked if it was also edible and he said “I mean. It’s not poisonous, but I’m sure it won’t taste good.” I asked if I could try it anyway and it seemed like he was just perplexed enough to indulge me so he gave me one leaf. It was terrible.

At the next plant he offered me a leaf before I asked and he wanted to know what it tasted like

For the rest of the tour he gave me a leaf from each non-poisonous plant and I told him how they all tasted (mostly like nothing at all but some unspeakably terrible) and that’s how I ate several dozen rare & endangered leaves.

So anyway. I’m a fan of this blonde guy already. I think we’d be friends
