Vampyres!!!! 🦇🦗🦂 (wip +sketches)
Some of my Insectoïd Vampyre concepts and sketches over the years. I've been working on and off my Underworld world-building since 2018-2019 for myself in hope to create small comics or just portfolios content. Here are old concepts from my Patreon.
The image above is a more recent one. Based on a mix of hognose bat and a cricket, they have a small set of membrane under their arms resembling butterfly wings (most of my designs do). I still have to test other details for their body as well as conceptualize their clothing that would fit their unique form. Probably more Baroque.
Read further to see the other designs!

Repost . Still I prefer bigger "bat" ears but some of them could be more varied. Tho the hog/beetle nose, stays

They are both right
Small artists you need to understand that when you see an artist who you think has 'made it' tells you not to worry about the numbers and to not fret about getting more likes than reblogs they are not telling you it because they think you are stupid for caring or because they dont need to network to survive they are very likely telling you that because they have witnessed first hand the way the numbers game tears people to shreds in terms of mental health and motivation
I personally have never been one to get too hung up on numbers or clout because I've always been a very casual artist. But I have seen real lasting effects on others from even tangentially tying worth to the numbers. You can absolutely Make It and be a big artist and still have performance paralysis from The Numbers. Its not healthy, and it sticks with you in a lot of small ways. Im sure there are smug assholes out there about it, but most people telling you stop worrying are doing it because they know the end result. Even if it works and the grind pays off with lots of followers and commissions it is so, so, so easy to make yourself miserable in a myriad of ways creatively. I wish you all success but please, please try to catch this behavior/mindset early and don't let it poison your ability to create

I debated writing this post, but it’s become clear that I need to address some misunderstandings about the Ratterrock, the webcomic that @bajingoarts and I have created together.
This comic is a collaboration between @bajingoarts and myself, @suzie-guru. The original characters are not solely @bajingoarts, and nor are they solely mine. They are our original characters from our story we have organically created together.
Neither one of us are “riding the coattails” of the other, just like neither Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett “rode coattails” when they created Good Omens together.
@bajingoarts is a wonderful storyteller, and so am I, and Ratterrock is a wonderful story we are creating together. Neither one of us is an afterthought in this story, it comes from both of our hearts (and both of our horniness).
It’s sad that I feel compelled to explain how my work schedule plays a part in how often I am able to come online and post about Ratterrock, but quite frankly, the only person to whom that information is pertinent to is my co-creator.
Both myself and @bajingoarts are vital to the story of Ratterrock. Please respect that.
I am embarrassed and angry that Suz and I have to even say any of this but I'm going to be very frank and clear about this so there is no confusion or debate.
THERE WOULD BE NO RATTERROCK WITHOUT @suzie-guru!
The story of Ratterrock is both mine and Suzie's creation, but the entire starting idea for Ratterrock was hers and she is the one that encouraged me to start the comic in the first place. I literally have the exact date and time she pitched the idea to me.
All the characters in Ratterrock are a result of our joint effort and creative input with each other. Based off hours of back and forth writing and idea sharing. If I neglected to tag her once or twice that's a result of my own laziness and not her lack of involvement.
For context: The reason I have to say any of this is because someone has sent her several anonymous hate messages recently, all attacking her involvement in the project.
I'd just like to say that, whoever sent these hateful things, I have no clue what you were trying to accomplish by belittling my friend, but if you like anything at all about Ratterrock, Suz is the one responsible for that. Without her there's no comic. It's done. I won't make it if it does not involve her.
So this is future message for all of the work going forward with the project. Leave. Suz. Alone. Or I will send the army of rats out to steal all your shit.
no u cannot leave this hidden in the tags oh my LORD
Make sure the bit is body-safe before committing to it
“it’s going to be WW3!!” no bitch it’s going to be vietnam, korea, afghanistan, it’s going to be another war wherein the US commits unspeakable and indefensible acts against a severely weakened people seeking self determination. it’s going to be another war where protesting is criminalized and “freedom of speech” is gutted in the interest of pushing propaganda. it’s going to be another nation of people added to the long list of victims of US imperialism and another demonstration of the strong undercurrent of fascism running through the foundation of america
if you told vin diesel fast and the furious you were gay he'd be like "Some people like driving stick…some people like driving automatic…what matters is you cross the finish line.." and then he'd rev up a dodge challenger and drive through a building and kill 16 people
he literally did in the fourth one when he's asked if he likes cars more than women
If you asked if he was cool with trans people, he'd probably say "sometimes, aftermarket parts are the only way to get the vehicle you really want. Everyone should have the right to hot rod."
Find the difference 🤔
catch me drawing this when I get home
I see no difference
I SWEAR THIS FUCKING MAN RIGHT HERE
