Introductory Shpiel
I’m finally caving and doing this post — I’ve avoided it for well over a year but now it’s time to bite the bullet and do it. As I’m sure plenty of you know I do indeed take theme commissions, and they are my one and only form of income. I’m not the type to go into detail of why that it is or what in my health and life prevents me from having any other means of supporting myself, it’s just a simple fact. I don’t want pity for it, but I do however want and need the ability to work to take care of myself. And that is where themes come in! I have been thememaking for well over 2 years now, and commissioning for just under that. Photoshop and coding are a big passion of mine, as is making each theme as individual and different as I can so no two look too much alike or like what anyone else is producing. I make extremely character customized themes, taking into account as many things about the character as I can, and striving to make each theme a personalized little world for them to live and breathe in. My themes thus far have also featured popups, hidden ‘easter eggs’ (whether they be for hover attributes, links, or most recently soundbites; yes I can even add custom sounds not in a music player) for you and your followers to discover, as well as matching promos, headers, scroll away images, super fancy asks ( x x ), etc. You name it; I’ve probably done it. There is something incredibly rewarding about making a theme that someone always dreamed of having, or making one they didn’t know they wanted, and doing so at the same time as supporting myself is a huge win-win in my book. Now, all that said, on to the information part of this post. If you’re not in the position to commission a theme, I would immensely appreciate a reblog of this post, especially if I have made a theme for you in the past that you enjoy. Thank you :)
Details
I offer themes of every shape and size, and just about any price. Contained box themes, non-contained, themes that change size from screen to screen (accounting for people with any size resolution being able to have the best view possible), interactive, minimalist, themes with custom fonts, styling, popups of every variety, tabs, the works. Anything is possible. If you approach me for commission we will exchange a series of messages, IMs, whatever you prefer and iron out the details. If you don’t have a specific vision in mind it’s no problem at all, I actually prefer to be let loose and come up with designs on my own as I am an artist at heart, but I am also fully willing and capable of producing a theme you have a specific vision for. Either way I will normally ask if you have images you’d like me to use (tho I will say not every image is theme-able, and I’d rather not use a less then stellar quality image on a theme), how many links you’d like, if you want popups, any color scheme you’d like to see, and so on. If you have no preference at all I will do my best to match the character, something I am comfortable in saying I am skilled at doing.
Pricing
Base pricing on themes is as follows;
Simple contained theme without any bells and whistles; $25
Contained themes with popups, extra styling, etc; $35+ (dependent upon the extra work; lately I have been doing some intensely customized codes and pushing myself to design new and innovative features on my themes so the current average has run more like $45-$50.)
Non-contained themes with popups, styling, etc; $35+
Contained or non-contained plus promo graphic(s); $45 and up
I do not like to be paid prior to completing a theme’s code. Due to not being paid for my 100% completed work more than once I have decided to start asking new commissioners to pay a flat $25 deposit up front to ensure I get paid for all the work I do. I’ve been too trusting in the past and it’s gotten me in a bad way with days of work being done for nothing because someone ends up not paying me. I can’t have that happen again. Before I begin coding I will send you an image mock-up of what your theme can/will look like upon completion. If you’re happy I move on to coding, and only after I have finished coding, and doing any adjustments you want to the graphics, code, etc, then I will ask for the rest of your payment and have the final price for you. I can’t at the start know exactly what the end cost will be, but it has never been more than $10 extra on top of the estimate I’ve given dependent on our discussion. Some themes simply take much more time and effort, especially if you want complex codes, or require multiple changes throughout my designing and coding. The most I have ever asked on a theme commission entirely done by myself is $60.

Collaborative Themes
My good friend herroyaldarkness and I have done some collab themes in the past, and last Christmas we did as well. If that’s something you’re interested in please let me know and I will discuss it with her! :) Collab themes are generally a little pricier as there are two of us trying to get something out of it, but they are an option I wanted to at least mention. They would feature my graphics and her coding for the most part, with base prices starting at $40.
*Please note that collaborative themes are currently not being accepted. She and I both need more solo commissions at this time so I won’t be discussing anything else for the time being.
And lastly thank you to anyone who takes the time to read through or reblog this, it means a great deal to me!
