Q: How did you two get together?
Eliza: How did we get together? We were best friends, we are still best friends.
Bob: Yeah.
Eliza: and Youuuu asked me out.
Bob: Yeah, I think it just organically came about that way, I think especially when I was going through my stuff and needing time off, Eliza was like the person who stood up for me the most, and protected me and looked after me.
I just had knee surgery when I was doing season 6, and I guess I was just trying to do the show as best as I could but I couldn’t walk like they were propping me up on boxes to look like I was standing up, and I was just like, I couldn’t walk back to the car, I couldn’t walk up my stairs, I was crying myself to sleep because I was in pain and I felt I was failing, and Eliza was one of the only people that stood up and said “no, like, he has to go home, he needs,” she was like, it was that shift about someone who actually cared about me.
Like saying, “you need to look after yourself,” that I think really shifted that relationship from being friends to me seeing you in a different light, and you seeing my worth and then showing me that going forward, yeah quite different from Bell and Clarke (fan had talked about Bellarke at first) but I think that was a turning point for me in my own self worth, and the way I saw myself because you made me realize that.
