the biggest problem with writing fantasy in english is that there's really no alternate universe phrasing that carries the exact tone and context to the reader as "jesus fucking christ"

Baby girl, I don't want to worry you, but in 2002 my apartment cost $400 a month and I spent about 30 a week on groceries. Hell on 2012 my apartment cost $560 a month and I spent about $50 on groceries (I'm sure about that number because that's what SNAP was at the time). Inflation is worse than you think, especially for housing
