Making these enclosure cards for my cousin's wedding invitations. She wanted them covered in lace. I suggested we avoid having a piece of lace that could be pulled off because it could easily be lost and that's an expensive piece of trash. Then I had to find a way to attach it. Because of the holes in the lace, you could see any craft double sided tape. I tried washi tape but I would have to find one that matched the theme of the card and washi tape comes I'm variety packs so I'd have to end up buying a bunch of useless variety packs and I couldn't find one simple enough to not detract from the actual invitation. Elmer's glue has a water content that is too high so it wrinkles the paper and does not hold well for long periods of time. So I'm trying Aleene's original tacky glue. It holds well, is not wrinkling the paper and is almost invisible. Because the lace would make the glue go through, I needed something to help the glue set that would not stick to it so I'm using parchment paper to hold the cards while they dry in a thick, heavy book. The cards will be 5x7 and she gave me 8.5 x 10 pearl paper. I scored it at 2.5 and 7.5 lines on the longest side. Then I folded and cut the ends (both sides so the folds align perfectly) down to 7 inches in length. For this, you would need about 1 foot of lace per invitation.

Paint things to express your emotions, paint as a distraction, paint gifts for others (or yourself!), paint to create art or just for fun. Or try other forms of painting, photography, drawing, pottery, poetry, or crafts.

I was really into calligraphy at one point (kinda still am but haven’t practiced in forever!). This is more… typography rather than calligraphy, but I still like it very much. I had it framed and at one point Cafe Yesterday in Berkeley agreed to display it on their wall so I dropped it off there with their employees. Unfortunately it never got displayed and the cafe subsequently lost the piece, something that I am very sad and kind of angry about.
