I am always the girl who says yes. Need someone to work extra hours? Yes. Need someone to watch your dog while you go on vacation? Yes. Need someone to put in extra money to make an event fabulous? Yes.

I like saying yes. I like helping others. But it has gotten to be too much.

About a year ago, I started saying no. It’s been a difficult change, but I’m getting better each day. Yet there is still one person who refuses to hear my no’s. And I am fucking tired. I’m tired of setting boundaries just to have them demolished. I’m tired of being made to feel bad for wanting an extra hour to myself once a week. I’m tired of looking stupid and clueless due to someone else’s lack of communication. I’m tired. I’m tired and I don’t know what to do.

Yesterday was good.

TFW you do your job and feel really proud of yourself and then get scolded anyway. Fuck.
