Net neutrality is the principle that Internet providers like Comcast & Verizon should not control what we see and do online. In 2015, startups, Internet freedom groups, and 3.7 million commenters won strong net neutrality rules from the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The rules prohibit Internet providers from blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization—"fast lanes" for sites that pay, and slow lanes for everyone else.

John Oliver on the danger of ending net neutrality:

On what ending net neutrality means for us:

Time to call your members of Congress, again.

Update

First of all, my cousin Josh is out of the hospital and rehab and it doing well. Thank you everybody for the well wishes for him. My Aunt was also very thankful for all the people who got behind this with their thoughts prayers etc so the thank you is from her as well.

Second, I’ve been trading off with sick rugrats, so I haven’t been on.

Third I got a new tablet because my Nook’s case was literally splitting apart. I decided to go with a Windows based tablet but turns out the Security Key for SWTOR doesn’t run on a Win10 machine.

For those in the US, Happy Thanksgiving. To everyone, prepare for the season of holiday madness, and for my Canadian friends, sorry I missed your Thanksgiving and I hope you had a good one.

Fifth, I’m trying to write, but I’ve been pretty depressed and add to that the crew is starting to work on the roof right above my head during the day, it’s not going well. I am starting to take 10,000 IU of vitamin D3, however, which my therapist thinks should help. I’m also going to try and dig out the UV lamp.

Sixth, that’s about it, have I missed anything in the past few weeks (Theron news??)

Illustration commission for the ever lovely @inquisitorhotpants! This is a wedding picture of her beautiful lady OC, Kryn, and Darth Marr! Thank you so much for commissioning me, I had such a blast drawing this scene! <3

Chammela Secra, one of the four official photographers of today’s state event, has been wandering the halls of the vast Kaas Estate House, snapping holos of various details that will be scattered throughout the final collection. The Estate House is mostly empty save for servants and staff - the official reception doesn’t begin for another hour - and she’s making her way to the solarium at the back of the building, hoping to get the first picture of the Emperor and Empress descending from Tysaira proper. Midway through crossing the expansive ballroom, she hears a low murmur off to her right.

Pausing and glancing in that direction, she’s shocked to see none other than the Emperor and Empress, clearly stealing a moment from whatever business has brought them down to the Estate House early, foreheads nearly touching as they share a quiet conversation. Nox is seated on the balcony railing, voluminous skirt billowing to her side, gems in her headpiece and on her dress sparkling. Marr is every bit her sartorial equal, outfitted in a style hearkening back to the mid-Ascendant period, and while he’s spent the entirety of the proceedings beforehand just as serious as he has always been, mask or no, this time Chammela can clearly see that he’s smiling. Neither of them have noticed her, and she offers a silent prayer to anyone or anything that might be listening that she won’t end up in trouble for this particular portrait as she captures it and then hurries through the ballroom.

She decides to keep it out of the official collection, opting instead to send a large copy, suitable for framing, directly to the Emperor and Empress.

Gorgeous art, gorgeous couple.

Do people actually think Ngani Zho did good with Theron

Do they really think that

I think Master Zho – to a point – did what he thought was best, and relied on what he knew: He knew how to raise Jedi. It was likely how he was raised; how he raised his padawans, and even Satele. That Theron didn’t have enough Force sensitivity to be a Jedi, well, that’s where the problem arises. Not his fault, but it simply was. I also suspect that, by the time it was abundantly clear that the Matukai Meditation was not helping, Master Zho had already begun a downward slide into dementia.

Left to his own devices and sent from the temple, Theron could have spent the rest of his life wallowing in self-pity, focussed on what he wasn’t. Instead, he did wallow for a little while, then salvaged what he could of those lessons and made them work for him. It made him more disciplined in many aspects of his life, maybe even allowed him to push himself harder than the average human agent. In Annihilation, Lost Suns, and in the game, I think it shows he has come to terms with most of that and is appreciative of what he did learn from Master Zho. (See also: “Master Zho would be proud.”)

Given the option, would he live that life again? I dunno. We’re not really offered that answer. Based on my own experience, I’d wager that he would. The adversity and challenge helped shape him into the person he is, flaws and all. I don’t think he hates himself enough to want such a reset.

And, provided that this latest trip down the rabbit hole is what we suspect it is, then I think his role in the Alliance (and possibly a semi-adult relationship) has been a growth arc for him, helping him come to terms with who he is… also provided that the BWA writing team doesn’t cluck it up too much.

I liked Master Zho, and I believe he was a good teacher. Not sure he was the best nurturer to give Theron to, but Satele didn’t have anywhere else to to turn, and I believe both of them expected him to be Force Sensitive. That the Force might have some other plan for Theron didn’t enter their minds, he was the Heir to the Shan tradition of service.

I think Zho suffered from that tunnel vision as it were. Theron had to be Force Sensitive. I mean how many time do we see this in the real world with parents trying to put their children in to molds not suited for them, even with the best of intentions.

Zho and Theron make me think of a few scenes in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The first is when young Indy runs into the library and starts trying to tell his dad about the Cross only to have his father to count to 20… in Greek.

And of course there’s the about teaching Indy self reliance, which Zho did for Theron. It wasn’t great for Theron’s personal life, but that lesson saved his life more than once.

I also agree that Theron would do it all over again especially if we’re going down the Rabbit Hole we think we’re going down, even the bad parts of the Rabbit hole we think we’re going down, because hopefully it’ll lead to so major growth for him and potentially a relationship he’s in.

well theron *for a second i wrote torian here lmao* looks pretty allright so i think he did a good job

you cant blame every little flaw on the caretaker/parents >_>

Yeah it pretty much takes us back to the ancient nature vs. nurture. :)
