Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Hee Yeol poke lighthearted fun at Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk

Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Hee Yeol, the two Yoo's on 'Sugar Man,' had some fun poking fun at Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk on the June 14 airing of the show. It all started when Chanhyuk commented impishly at Yoo Hee Yeol, who is the CEO of label Antenna Music, "It's unfair for us if you are on the show," referring to Yoo Hee Yeol's inclination toward his own artists Sam Kim and Kwon Jin Ah, both of whom were on his team.

Yoo Hee Yeol joked back, "But Producer Kim Tae Ho is on the show," and chastisedYoo Jae Suk, "How can you bring the producer on the program?" referring to Chanhyuk's close resemblance to 'Sugar Man's producer Kim Tae Ho. Yoo Jae Suk returned, "Producer Kim Tae Ho's company-issued picture looks exactly like Chanhyuk."

Akdong Musician Finds Their Own Doppelgängers Back In History

Akdong Musician’s Lee Chanhyuk posted a hilarious and surprising photo of possible Akdong Musician doppelgängers back in history!

On June 15 the singer uploaded a strange photo on to his Instagram, circling a boy and a girl’s face.

The boy and the girl are wearing hanboks in this pretty dated photo, and look surprisingly similar to Akdong Musician’s Lee Soohyun and Lee Chanhyuk.

The facial features of the siblings in the photo are quite exact to that of Akdong Musician’s.

Seeing that Lee Chanhyuk uploaded this himself, the siblings in the photo must really feel like doppelgängers of himself and his sister.

Akdong Musician's Suhyun performs for the first time without her brother on 'Immortal Song'

Akdong Musician's Suhyun put on her first TV performance without her brother Chanhyuk on the June 11 installment of 'Immortal Song'. 

As the last one up on stage, Suhyun covered "I Didn't Want Love From You", which was legendary singer Hong Seo Bum first solo song after leaving the band Sound. She said before getting on stage, "I'm laughing bitterly. There was rock and heavy metal. I don't know what I should do," showing her nervousness. The Akdong Musician member also said, "I'm really very nervous because this is my first time appearing on a show without my older brother. I really worked hard preparing, so please enjoy it." Her bossanova rendition got the crowd's feet tapping and it was Rose Motel (Highlight For Spoiler) who took the final trophy.

Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk admits to being pretentious

Akdong Musician made another radio show appearance, this time on the June 6 airing of SBS's 'Cultwo Show.'

On this day, Chanhyuk admitted to being a 'heo-sae nam,' which roughly translates to a pretentious man.  Basically, a man who acts like he knows everything even when he doesn't and is full of hot air.

He had previously taken a picture of himself in a cafe in Shinsadong and posted it up with the words, "Feeling a New York morning."  He explained, "It was a brunch cafe, and it gave off that feeling," then admitted, "I've never gone to New York," causing laughter.

Her sister, Suhyun, chimed in with, "Before, oppa told me that I'm a lump of aegyo, but oppa is a lump of pretentiousness.  He doesn't mind that though and goes with it."

Chanhyuk added, "There are even people who say I got pretentious after getting intoYG. But I always had pretentiousness."  Cause that's something to brag about.

[NEWS]  Akdong Musician Opens Up About Kissing And Their Family

On the June 2 episode of KBS “Happy Together,” the Akdong Musician duo make a guest appearance on the show.

The brother-sister pair share with the set that their family is dubbed the “Happy Power Plant.” The name takes after the their father’s blog, which he has managed for several years. Lee Chanhyuk explains that he mistakenly thought “Happy Power Plant” was the name of where his father worked.

The duo also comments that despite their current age as young adults, the family starts the day off with kisses on the lips, even between Lee Chanhyuk and his father. The siblings react in shock when MC Yoo Jae Suk asks if they also kiss each other. They quickly clarify that they kiss their parents, but definitely not each other.

[ NEWS ]  Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk got mistaken for Producer Kim Tae Ho?

Akdong Musician appeared on KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together' on June 2 where another lookalike of Chanhyuk was brought up.

Yoo Jae Suk said to him, "You really look similar to Producer Kim Tae Ho.  On Producer Kim Tae Ho's employment ID card, there's a face that looks like Chanhyuk."

Chanhyuk replied, "There was even a time when a report went out incorrectly.  It was an article about me, but there was a picture of Producer Kim Tae Ho.  He's a neighbor, and whenever I see him, I was jumpy.  I thought, 'I finally met him.'"

Do you see the resemblance?  He was also told he looked like Ryu Joon Yeol...

[NEWS] Akdong Musician to join 'Sketchbook' as fixed members!

You can now see Akdong Musician every week on 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook'!

The sibling duo will be taking charge of a new segment named 'Descendants of the Lyrics', where Akdong Musician will be editing song lyrics based on certain given topics.

The first recording of the new segment took place on May 31. Following, Akdong Musician showed great passion for their new fixed positions as they said, "Through 'Descendants of the Lyrics', we will show [the audience] fresh and innocent lyrics."

[NEWS] Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk gifted songs to IU and Suzy?  

Akdong Musician's Chanhyuk relayed the circumstances that led to his gifting the lovely Suzy and IU with original songs during the duo's June 1 appearance on 'Weekly Idol.'

He revealed that he's a fan of Suzy, adding that he even made a song on the spot for her called "A Suzy Day."

He also revealed that he had likewise given a song to IU, explaining, "She came to our concert as a guest for us, so I gave her a song as a present."

Akdong Musician appeared on the June 1 episode of MBC Everyone's 'Weekly Idol'!

On this day, Suhyun tried her hand in playing a delinquent from the movie 'Sunny.' She admitted, "I have a bit of an ambition regarding acting."

MC Hani then said, "You mean you want to play a character with 'perilla leaf hair' who chews gum?" and Suhyun, surprised, asked, "How did you know?" She then really put a perilla leaf in her hair and acted out a scene from 'Sunny' with her brother,Chanhyuk, who made everyone laugh with his bad acting.

So does that mean Suhyun really does want to act or no? Regardless, could you see her as an actress, too?

Akdong Musician Wants To Keep Their Trademark Off-Beat Music And Lyrics

On May 20, Dazed magazine revealed some photos from their June issue pictorial with Akdong Musician.

Akdong Musician recently came back with the album “Spring.” The Korean title, however, literally translates as “puberty.” “Instead of literally representing teenage puberty, the album represents a change of mind,” they said. “We wanted to express the excitement and anxieties of new dreams and love, as well as curiosity about the world.”

The bright, vintage vibe of the pictorial reflects the duo’s eclectic musical style. Suhyun’s hair is bright red while Chanhyuk curled his hair and took off his glasses. The two are dressed alternately in denim, plaid, athletic gear, pinstripes, and khaki, complementing rather than copying one another.

“We want to keep pursuing music and lyrics that is different from everyone else,” they shared. “We hope the second part of our ‘Spring’ album will be more mature, especially since there will be a two year hiatus.”

Lee Chanhyuk had previously expressed his intentions to enlist in military serviceafter the group’s comeback this year.

Akdong Musician Reveals Some Of Their Closest Celebrity Friends

Akdong Musician recently appeared on SBS PowerFM’s “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” radio show on May 27, where they talked about their close celebrity friends.

During the program, Lee Soohyun says, “My closest [celebrity friend] is Lee Hi, who’s close in age to me, and the iKON members.”

She further explains, “The first actress I got close to was Kim Yoo Jung, who was the MC for one of the music shows when I was promoting with Lee Hi. I worked up the courage to tell her that I wanted to become friends. At first, she seemed to be taken aback when I told her to become comfortable with me since we’re the same age. The next week, she awkwardly linked arms with me and asked, ‘Soohyun, can I have your number?’ Touched by her actions, I gave her my number right away. She even moved close to my house recently, so we’ve been seeing each other a lot. I’m so happy I can be close with people my age.”

Her brother Lee Chanhyuk reveals, “I want to become close with Ryu Jun Yeol. A few days ago, I got to know the group SEVENTEEN and I’ve been keeping contact with them ever since. I’m also close with Yoo Seung Woo. However, these days I’ve been hanging out more with some of my non-celebrity friends.”

Meanwhile, Akdong Musician recently made a comeback with their new album “Spring Vol. 1″ on May 4, which has been performing well on the charts.

Akdong Musician’s Lee Soohyun and I.O.I Join “Immortal Song” Line Up

Two new faces will be making appearances on KBS’s “Immortal Song”!

On May 27, a representative confirmed that Akdong Musician member Lee Soohyun, I.O.I, and Muzie are scheduled to appear, alongside the other performers, Rose Motel, Clazziquai, Son Seung Yeon, and Kim Ji Woo. They will all participate in the the May 30 recording of the show, which will take place at KBS New Wing Open Hall. This future episode will feature cover performances of artist Hong Seo Beom’s songs.

They also reveal, “This will be the first time Lee Soohyun, I.O.I, and Muzie appear on ‘Immortal Song.’ Lee Soohyun is preparing a solo performance without her brother Lee Chanhyuk. All eleven members of I.O.I will participate in the performance, and Muzie plans to show the audience a different side to himself.”

According to their statements, this episode will feature both new and veteran singers, and will no doubt put on performances that will impress the eyes and ears of the audience. Many are anticipating the younger additions to the show’s line up.

This episode of “Immortal Song” will be broadcasted sometime in June.
