Shoot I helped out with. Too many feels but we are not sorry.
"Tadashi is here."
» Part of our Big Hero 6 photo series (●—●)
These are kind of our test photos for Tadashi’s test videos, which is why some parts are missing. We’re going to reshoot it after preparing certain things to be able to do the whole scene because we didn’t need our hearts anyway.
....
Getting the shot
A peek at the process behind one of the photos from [our photo set] of the scene where Hiro meets Baymax for the first time. Particularly, this snarky Hiro moment when he goes, “Physical? Or emotional?” upon being asked for his pain scale rating. This was a fun shot to get!
To get this mid-sentence kind of facial expression to look natural, I’m most comfortable actually mouthing out the words, getting used to the movement, and trusting Reskiy to capture just the right moment and angle. I get some extra help from Miguel (Tadashi) who checks on my face and coaches me, and Kat (Aunt Cass) and Charmie keep the reference images at hand and give extra instructions to me and Reskiy to get it as close as possible to what we had in mind.
This may sound serious and perhaps we look somewhat serious in the GIF, but really it usually comes down to hilarious roleplaying or method acting with us. We keep at it just long enough to get the shot before it ends with us making each other burst into laughter.
I would probably be too embarrassed to do this to this extent with anyone other than these friends. I think that’s really where the magic comes from!
<3 Jin
Behind the scenes! Method cosplay acting haha. We were probably laughing 95% of the time though! We love to make shots as faithful as humanly possible. I guess since a lot of us come from creative backgrounds we take quite a bit of our artsy fartsyness to the shoots too <3 It's a great effort of teamwork friendship and trying not to laugh so much mid shot. Also yes very much real people under all the photos.

I miss cosplaying Madoka but I really want to redo the skirt and the bow. Though I'm just tempted to make an entirely new one eventually.
"Kazoku" (家族) means "family". And family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.

Our response to a photo request from my inbox: Aunt Cass having doughnuts with her boys after cafe hours. We added a bit more to it! Tadashi is excited about something that happened at school, Hiro is having none of this nerd school talk, and Aunt Cass attempts to be more maternal. That smug big bro look is too real, I’m gonna punch him
We enjoyed shooting this because we were hungry and really wanted to have some doughnuts. ᕕ( >ᴗσ̑ )ᕗ
Aunt Cass: How'd it go today? Tadashi: It was really really great-- We got to do more research! And the guys have gotten really far along with their projects and-- Hiro: (Ugh yeesh nerd school talk) *slowly inches his hand and attempts to get his 5th donut* Aunt Cass: *AUNT SENSES TINGLING taps Hiro's hand* Not so fast! You haven't even finished the fourth donut. And you have crumbs all over your face *wipes Hiro's face* Hiro: NNNNN AUNT CAAAASSSS Tadashi: (totally finding Hiro so adorable right now heh and saw this coming from a mile away)
Throwback, cosplayed the Ranka Lee Maiko version.

AUNTY SENSES OVER 9000!!! LOOK AT THESE TWO CUTE BOYS. YEA.
Question about Red Circle Lenses
Got this ask on my inbox! Basically I prefer the Blythe Eye Red as stated in my big review about them. These are pigmented but look the most natural since they blend into your natural eye color better. You can get some over at Eye Candy Shop and they also ship abroad.
Posted this photo of some red lenses i've tried throughout the years. I.Fairy Kimchi Bambi red is kinda creepy for moe characters. But I guess they could look for guy cosplays or I dunno if you want to do Darth Maul from Star Wars. I honestly thought the yellow bits would make your eyes look more natural. They don't, they really really don't and stand out more than the reds. I.Fairy/CutiPie Dolly+ I find the colored area to be quite slim. They're pigmented but may not show up as well afar. Some anime eyes are styled this way though. Makes you look like you have bigger pupils. Geo/EOS/Whichever brand Animation Lenses Really pigmented and opaque. Quite small though. You might get red tunnel vision. These are more uncomfy imo since they're thicker than other lenses. Hope that helps anon.
Do you know any upcoming anime cons this 2015 (especially January)?
Uhm I don't really go to events as much for other info on this kinda stuff best consult anime sites like. http://animephproject.com/
Because of your review of the Zircon Pink lenses, I got myself a pair of Zircon Blue lenses!
That's really cool to hear!!! They're pretty interesting hope you're enjoying them.
I think the most common reaction tag on our Big Hero 6 photo series is: #HOW
Some just leave it at that one word, but others have elaborated and posed questions such as “How do you look just like Hiro?” or "How do you three even exist?" or "How did you escape from the movie screen?"...
Reblog for great justice! Jin shares thoughts and emotions about our recent cosplay for Big Hero 6. A hearty and wholesome post I hope you all can take time to read. Despite how "CG" we cosplayers may look, you will find that we too are as human as you. There is much heart on how we come to do things. Thanks so much for showing your appreciation for our cosplays!
Hiro's Journal: My family is pretty cool!

"WOOO MY FAMIILY! I LOVE MY FAMILY! LOOK AT MY PRECIOUS BOYS! " She recalled proudly saying these words that were lost to time. The memories rang clearly through Aunt Cass mind. A weary smile spread across her lips as she flipped through the pages of the family album.
"These were the times I wish could have lasted forever." A tear shed for every future stolen away from them.
Last hug!

We want to incorporate more GIFs and videos as part of our cosplay shoots, but we need more practice. Here’s our trial take on the hug scene with Aunt Cass as Hiro is trying to sneak out to chase after Baymax. It’s definitely not our best work but I thought it would be fun to share anyway! Aunt Cass’s powerful hug nearly lifted me off the ground.
Awwww look at my baby go off to College with such enthusiasm. Im such a happy and proud aunt.
A slice of life from San Fransokyo's Lucky Cat Cafe
» Part of our Big Hero 6 photo series (•–•)
We were fortunate enough to have the perfect place to shoot for the Lucky Cat Cafe. Jin pointed it out and we were like oh yea it does look like the cafe!!! We had to get up really early for the shoot. In my case I was out of town the day before so I was going the entire day with reserve energy!!! Trying to summon all my motherly prowess for this photo set and then some. Ohoho!
Shake things up! Use that big brain of yours to think your way out! Look for a new angle!

We did it! But yikes, this was dangerous! Please don’t try this! We had a team helping out and there were a lot of safety precautions involved that you can’t see here, so somehow we managed. Still, this was far from easy!
