Jess
An oil painting of my friend Steve that I painted a few months ago.
Don't know this person's name, but they follow me on Instagram.com/tomthinks. They commented "draw me!" and usually that's annoying, but I peeped his profile and really liked one of his selfies. Hey, it can happen to you.
I finished a family portrait for the Bent Family. It’s the first time I’ve done one before. Zack and Gala are both artists and their sons are really cool. Great family. This portrait is on 8.5x11″ paper.
Last self-portrait of 2019.
Rest in Peace Carol Spinney.
Trying my best to capture all the deep depths here.
Feeling ugly today.
Revisiting oil
I built a custom animated illustration machine where I draw something once and it is animated like this self portrait. I love it. It’s fun. It’s easy.
You can watch a 90 sec time-lapse of the drawing process. It’s sped up 87% from original speed.
Newsletter time
Hi there. You may have noticed I post portraits now and then. I also occasionally post animation-related projects. I do lots of stuff and I like posting that stuff, but I don’t talk very much about the stuff, so if you want to hear more about why I do the stuff or what stuff I’m thinking about, feel free to join my newsletter list if you like to read:
https://www.tomdeslongchamp.com/contact (at bottom of page)
I promise not to send too many emails and I won’t spam you and you can unsubscribe at any time of course. I just wanted a place to share a little more about why I do what I do and what things I’m workin’ on. Social media is cool, but I’m finding myself drawn to this backdoor self expression for those who are curious. Thanks!
Living room crayon stick drawings. Each one is 8.5x11″. Fun to let go of detail
Portrait for NoMan’s new album cover.
I don’t know what this is but it was fun
