Hmm... ok... if Child Emperor, Zombieman, and Metal Bat had the choice of getting a building commissioned just for them, what would they want it to be and what would it have? (E.g. apartment, gym, laboratory, just a hang out space, etc.)
Stella here. Imagining this was really fun! Apologies for both us being quite busy at the moment. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon! (I spend a lot of time on thinking through prompts waaaay too much; I’ll try to knock them out more efficiently!)
Child Emperor: Apparently, CE has a lab in Y-City already — but he’d commission a huge addition to it. He’s such a budding workaholic (is it being a workaholic when work is play?), he’d expand the existing lab to be an entire multi-level, sprawlingly interconnected complex.
Underground and on the first floor, kept under strict biometric lock-and-key: an even bigger lab and tinker space with room to grow, a testing center for his inventions, a battle simulation and training center, an office with his computers and notebooks.
On the top floors: a nap room, and of course can’t forget the bathroom and a small kitchen/pantry for all them snacks (I imagine he still goes home on the regular, no full-blown apartment yet).
On the first floor and second floors, open to the public: a small campus where he teaches his classes, as well as an enclosed courtyard-style playground with a soccer field when he needs to take a good hard break.
In short, it’s all designed to let him be in close proximity to his lab for most of the time.
Zombieman: he doesn’t want a lot — he’s a pretty simple dude, rather content with most whatever he’s got, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to appreciate the finer things in life (and again, these things tend to be simple pleasures, too).
He’d most likely commission a humble one-room getaway cabin in the mountains. It’s not too fancy, it’s just got the basics: running water, a few camp lanterns (he sees pretty well in the dark), and a nice, plush futon.
It’s a handy central base when he’s got to do detective business around the area, but aside from that, it’s a nice weekend retreat for those times when he doesn’t want anybody to find and bother him. Usually he’ll choose to come to unwind a bit and be in solitude with his thoughts somewhere in the woods. He appreciates seeing the seasons change here whenever he returns here; a nice sense of the passage of time that’s dulled when living in the city.
His favorite time there is when he can soak in the natural hot springs while it’s snowing. It’s made even better with a glass of whiskey, on the rocks (and there’s no one to tell him off for bringing beverages into the onsen).
—oh I guess this turned into me daydreaming about Zombieman srynotsry
Metal Bat: this dude does everything for Zenko. He also doesn’t seem to currently want for anything in particular...so when approached with this offer, the only thing he can think of is to build a music center. Pffft haha typical, dude.
The recital hall will probably get used most of the time by the city, to be honest, but Zenko can be the headliner whenever she’s to be in a concert, obviously. He expects her to mostly use the practice rooms in the back, but when she’s ready to be up on that stage you bet his ass is gonna be in one of the front-row seats.
Don’t forget that he’s requested a weight room too (labeled “Janitorial”, don’t wanna ruin the recital hall vibe) so he can listen to her practice over the speakers while he works out. And also you can’t walk out the atrium without seeing the cat cafe/adoption center plopped right to the side because he thought, damn, wouldn’t Zenko love that?
He didn’t quite think the hodgepodge building through when he requested it; it was a scatterbrained comment that poorly rammed together things Zenko would like. It’s not half-bad — the poor architect tried their best to make logical sense of the layout.
