Mars & Beyond: Chapter 123

I smiled some as I glanced over at Bruno in the van, him slowly typing out something. “Who are you texting?” I asked quietly continuing my window watching. I felt his eyes on me before I looked over, “I’m not texting babe, I’m on twitter.” I laugh a little; “You and twitter are good friends now huh?” “Very,” he shrugged some and smiled. “It’s pretty cool to be able to talk to fans.” “Alright well..” I began raising an eyebrow; “Your wife would think it was pretty cool if you talked to her right now.” He let out a breath before he put on his silly smile, “Alright.”

He pushed his phone to the side of him in the seat before he reached over and rubbed my thigh. “I’m here.” I raised an eyebrow at his hand, “Hands to yourself.” I bit my lip some and looked away as I moved his hand away, knowing that the last time he needed to do was rub on me in a van full of people. “Oh shit!” One of the guys screamed out from the front of the van causing us to look up. “Damn B, have you seen this?” Kam asked turning in his seat to Bruno. Bruno quickly leaned up to look to at his phone.

It was pretty fascinating seeing Bruno become interested in technology, and even though he always complained it had grown on him. I had caught him just some weeks ago up on his laptop at two in the morning and he swore up and down he wasn’t watching porn but his computer history said otherwise. Of course I found it funny, it wasn’t something I would tease him about.

“Hey,” Bruno said looking at me and taking me away from my daydream. “You stop that,” he said his eyebrow raised and his eyes scanning me. I leaned closer to him pushing my face into the side of his. “Shut up,” I whispered before I leaned back out with a smile. He laughed some biting his lip before he reached over and grabbed my hand, “You excited?” I nodded some as I observed him, “Beyond excited baby.”

Vegas was just the way it always was. Busy, bright, full of excitement and the faint sounds of people loosing millions. Bruno was a regular gambler and sometimes I felt like he lied about just how much he was spending but who was I to say something, if the money was there then why not. I dropped my body into the bed as I let out a groan, “God I love the beds here.” I closed my eyes for a moment letting my body relax into the blankets. It grew quiet and I turned my head to look at Bruno who was half out on the balcony smoking. I watched him for a few seconds before I got up and walked over to him.

I wrapped my arm around his lower back, “What are you thinking about?” He shook his head some as he held down his cigarette, his eyes fixed across the Vegas. “I can’t believe it.. still.” I pushed my face into his neck taking a deep breath of his scent, “I know baby, it’s only going to get better.. Especially if you keep dancing the way you do.” He raised an eyebrow and looked at me, “What do you mean?” I rolled my eyes some before I moved away from him, “You know what I’m talking about all of that moving your hips, don’t act dumb.”

I heard the balcony door close before I quickly felt his arms around me, I laughed and bit my lip. “Leave me alone.” “You inspired all of this.. dancing,” he breathed into my neck making me close my eyes. “Did I?” I asked turning my head some to look at him. “Absolutely,” he said softly looking me in the eyes. I smiled some before he leaned in and kissed me deeper than he had in awhile. I realized just how much I had missed him as we started to make out more. Before I knew it I was laid across the bed my hands tangled in his hair and his hands caressing my hips. I moaned just a little as his tongue met with my neck. His phone began to ring causing me to open my eyes. He leaned up some looking across the room as he breathed faster than normal because of our actions. “Just get it Bruno.”

He nodded some and lifted his body away from mine before going over and grabbing his phone. I turned my head and let out a breath as I closed my eyes. I started to daydream before I was startled some minutes later by his kisses on my neck, “I’m sorry Diamond.” I shook my head some as I rubbed his chest, “It’s alright Bru.. You’re a business man now remember?” He smiled some before he kissed me on the lips, “I’m only a business man on the weekdays.” I laughed turning my head from his kiss, “It’s Thursday.” He looked at me dumbfounded, “Oh.” I laughed more shaking my head at him, “You’re a mess.”

The next day was pretty hectic; I kind of wished I had of brought Michelle with me when I found myself alone in the hotel room. I let out a breath as I surfed through a set of channels on the TV I was sure I had already been through. I glanced out towards the balcony before I looked at my phone. I smiled some at the picture of Bruno and I before there was a knock on the door. I looked up quickly before I started to sit up.

“One second.” I pushed my hair back and fixed my shirt as I went to the door and looked through the peephole. I frowned a little when I noticed no one was there. I rubbed my arm some and looked behind me and around the room again before I decided to have another look.

My stomach started to give me an eerie feeling again, the one I got when I sensed something was wrong. I went over and closed the balcony door locking it before I pulled the curtains closed. I turned as another knock came and I slowly walked over to the door raising my voice some, “Who is it?” There wasn’t a response and I carefully went over looking through the peephole again. Still, no one stood there I started to wonder if my troubles had really found me once again.

Hey everyone I know it's been over a year since I have posted a chapter and that sounds as crazy as it is to think about it but here it finally is! I'm gonna get back into this story because I absolutely need to finish it. (Hopefully I still have people willing to read) For those that are still here, enjoy!

"Bruno.." I began as I rubbed the side of my arm staring off across the room. I was trying so hard not to look at him and I was sure it was beginning to get obvious. "I've been kind of not fully telling you the truth.." I choked out frowning more after each word. I took a deep breath as I tried to think about exactly what I wanted to say, my feet beginning to move on their own as I began to pace. "And.." he spoke out quietly after almost a full minute silence. I finally glanced back to him as he stared back at me. His face a mix between confusion and anger. I blinked away from his eyes rubbing up my arm again until I grabbed my own shoulder. "There was this really bad guy that I dated in high school and he did shit to me that.. that even if I sat here and told you every single thing you probably still wouldn't believe me," I babbled out staring off at a picture on the wall. "You know I would Diamond," he said softly causing me to look over at him. He shrugged a little looking down to his hands and then back up to me, "To be completely honest with you right now the way you're acting is scaring the shit out of me.." I frowned a little at his words finally letting my arms fall as I took another pause trying to find my words again.

"What did he do to you?" he said a little rougher. I shook my head as I felt myself getting emotional about the situation all over again. "Tell me." I shook my head even more bringing a hand up to my face as the tears began to fall, "You don't understand." He began to raise his voice at me completely unaware of how much worse he was making it for me, "I can only understand if you tell me.. we've been sitting here for damn near ten minutes and.." I rose my voice over his as I cut him off, "It's fucking hard ok, you don't even understand exactly what I've been through and what I'm going through now.. so don't talk to me like that." I kept my back to him as I wiped my tears away taking a deep breath. "This shit bothers me to the core.. every time I even get the slightest thought of it I get chills, I forget how to breathe." He stayed silent as I continued, "And I've tried for months to find the right words and I'm struggling.." I said whispering the last part. My body instantly tensed up as I felt his arms around me. "I'm sorry," he whispered against my neck, "Take your time." I took another deep breath, "He's following me Bruno.. everywhere. He was in Hawaii, he's here." "Where is he? When was the last time you seen him?" His arms moved from around me as he stepped in front of me moving my arms and observing me, "Did he touch you?" He looked up to my eyes, the smallest hint of anger in his big brown eyes. I nodded a little trying to keep myself from crying more than I already was. He clenched his jaw as he turned his face away from me the realness of the situation finally becoming more apparent to him.

"I should've stayed home today.. fuck I should've went with you," he whispered shaking his head. I rubbed the side of my arm again looking down to the floor as he mumbled on. "Something told me to just stay home today.." He blinked slowly leaning his head back and putting his hands on his face. He stayed there for a couple of seconds as if he was trying to calm himself down. "He tried to take me in his truck today.." I slipped out quietly looking up to him as he took his hands down frowning at me. "He did what?" "He pushed me out of the store and tried to kidnap me Bruno." I said firmly simply trying to get him to understand just how much danger I was in earlier today. His face could've turned blue as his expression grew sick and his legs stumbled after one another as he went over to the bed. He put one hand in it before he sat down carefully his attention fixed on the wall in front of him. "Has this happened before?" I shook my head a little as I wiped more tears away, "I've seen him but he never tried to do what he did today." "Jesus christ Diamond.." he breathed out almost painfully slowly closing his eyes. Silence filled the air and it was obvious both of us we're stuck in our own thoughts.

"We need to go home," he finally said speaking up louder than he had in the last ten minutes. He stood up causing me to turn to him. He rose an eyebrow as he looked me in the eyes, "We got things to do tomorrow." I nodded a little taking a deep breath. I watched him as he went to the door and opened it, glancing back to make sure I was following him. He looked me up and down, "You alright?" I nodded some as I sniffed again, trying to keep my mind from replaying todays events again. I wiped more tears as he held up one of his arms, signaling for me to walk into it. I did so, closing my eyes for a second after I felt his lips kiss my cheek. "It's gonna be alright," he said softly before I nodded. He led us to the living room where I began to fold the blanket I was using. Michelle smiled softly at us as she walked in, "Everything ok?" Bruno nodded, "Yeah and if it's not it will be." I smiled some at her, knowing she knew my fake smiles more than I did. Michelle helped us to the door holding it open as I followed behind Bruno. "Have a good time this weekend and call me!" Michelle yelled after us as we got to his car. I glanced over at mine not even bothering to think through how I would get it back to our house. I smiled softly at Bruno as he opened the passenger side door for me. I kept watching him as he walked around the front of the car, pushing a hand through his messy hair. I looked up at it after he got in. "Are you growing your hair out or something?" I said trying to smile as he started the car.

"Yeah," I said simply with a smirk. "Can you handle it?" She smiled before she started to laugh, a sound that I realized then that I missed. "Yeah sure.. I can handle it." I smiled bigger as I drove off looking forward to actually spending the evening in her presence. "You hungry?" I asked a couple of minutes into our drive glancing over at her. She nodded some before she sighed, I knew I had taken her from her daydream. "Very.. I could probably eat a good three cheeseburgers right now." I laughed as I kept my eyes on the road, "You sound like someone I know." She laughed with me and I could feel our moods being lightened by the minute. I drove to the nearest McDonalds where we both ordered more than we should have. We held hands between the seats during the drive home, even though the smell of the food was asking for my attention. 

Vegas was already here and I couldn't wrap my mind around the thought of playing in one of the most well-known places with my band. Everyone was so excited and I just couldn't wait to have some romantic time with Diamond. The more I thought about it, the more I felt bad about the last week. I sometimes needed to remind myself that we we're indeed married and that our love was at one of it's highest peaks. And finally, Vegas was here and it was time to make it up. I had a couple of things up my sleeve as usual. I always had to keep her on me.

"Diamond.." I heard Bruno yell from down the hall. I closed my eyes tightly knowing it was already coming. "I'm coming Bruno.. jesus," I yelled back whispering the last part. It seemed that he had gotten more and more impatient as time went on and in some way I was starting to get used to it. I let out a breath as I looked at myself in the mirror once more, making sure I was fine with my look. I turned away rolling the sleeve of my shirt up more before I grabbed my bag. I smiled at our bedroom as I closed the door behind me. I kept my smile as I begin to walk down the hallway raising my voice again, "I'm coming honey." I said in a higher pitched voice making him giggle. "That's not my wife," he said as he held the door open for me. I went up and kissed him softly grabbing the back of his neck, "You're right." He bit his lip some and I did the same, my reason being the smell of his cologne. "Hmm.." I mumbled as I fixed his collar. He raised an eyebrow as he held out a hand and laughed softly, "Come on what are you doing?" "Fucking with you of course," I laughed as walked out the door towards the van. He simply smiled and shook his head as he closed the door. Vegas, here we come yet again.
