Perseverance
Though I wish there had been more build up to this scene, it still gets me every time. There’s so much expression here. Anger, impatience, resignation, doubt and a touch of fear. I really do applaud whoever was in charge of his model and animations.
I’ve always felt that his model and animations told more of his story than his screen time did. Or at the very least added another—very significant and effective—layer.
The shiny quality to his skin that’s akin to a sheen of sweat for withdrawal. The purplish undertone beneath his eyes showing his lack of sleep because of his nightmares. The messy scar on his lip that says he probably received it when he was still afraid of magic, so he most likely stitched it up and cared for it himself. The stubble he never gets under control because his hands shake too much from the lack of sleep and lyrium. The fact that his hands do shake when you tell him to take lyrium again. That’s all the dark stuff, the shadow story you have to be paying attention to see.
On the light side, we have the man’s eyebrow game. Crooked smiles. Rubbing the back of his neck. Puppy eyes. His adorable nose scrunches when he gets agitated. The crinkles by his eyes when he smiles that say he does laugh and smile often despite his serious demeanor.
Ugh…time togo romance him againget back to writing my fanfic. Byyeee.
‘Restraint’
Tuggin’ the Commander away from his duties to attend to a more… pressing issue. Poor guy couldn’t even get his pants off before getting pulled away. Damn right you’d better bring that fur cloak with you, Ser Rutherford.

Noct and Prom both give off the energy that they bite during fights.
Noct only bites as a last resort, though. Like sometimes during training, when Gladio has him pinned, Noct just cronches down in a final attempt at winning. It pisses Gladio off so bad every time bc he never expects it. Definitely latches on like a leech and leaves a bruise in the perfect shape of his teeth. (Imagine a Tonberry taking him to court and suing, using the teeth imprint bruise as evidence. The Tonberry would win.) Probably bit Ardyn several times during the final fight just to prove a point tbh.
Prompto, though? Leaves no stone unbitten. He opens everything with his teeth, anyway. Why would fighting be different? Uses his chompers way more than he should and has chipped, and even broken a few before. (his dentist is a happy camper. Literally says, "See you next week!" before Prom leaves the office.) Dramatic, feral energy in a fight when it becomes close quarters bc he's not used to it. Runs at you, mouth open and teeth already clicking together like tap shoes on hardwood flooring. This boy isn't here to play. He will take a chunk out of a Cactuar. He does not care.
