I Am Not Afraid Of You was done a lot at practice, but never had concrete horn parts or vocals until the last week before the album was released. However, I am super proud of the lyrics I wrote last-minute, and all of the piecemeal parts we recorded as ideas ended up sounding great when put together. Kirby Suntala just happened to show up where we were recording so we made him play a little solo in the bridge for us. While we have a lot of adages to other bands on this album, this song is the only song that references our other songs so much. Be Just Like The Old Days (Dads) is reprised in the outro, and the lyrics contain references to other song titles on the album (No Matter What, Don’t Think, and Nowhere We Won’t Go). This song was a lot of fun to write once we finally got down to it, and I enjoy it in it’s role as the last track on the album.
