Before there was instant replay, there was Dr. Harold Edgerton. Edgerton was an MIT professor who invented the electronic flash and created jaw-dropping images that captured objects in motion. To capture this photograph of Harvard football coach Wes Fesler mid-kick, Edgerton hooked up the football to wires to trigger the flash.
