Inspired by @spacefroggity post here

[ID: a photo of a pen drawn comic.

Panel 1. Kirk looks up with sparkling eyes, saying "spock can you meld with the enterprise?"

2. This panel is just his eyes, wide and with stars in them, he says "tell her i love her?"

3. Spock says nothing.

4. Then he huffs a sigh, closes his eyes and says "fine".

5. A hand on some metal panelling.

6. The Enterprise in space, with stars around it, and one of Spock's closed eyes.

7. Spock says "she loves you back".

8. Kirk looks happily surprised, with lines of exclamation next to his head and a wobbly grin, with tears on his cheek. / end ID]

I wish I could garden again. Unfortunately, that costs money (and spoons) that I do not have.

"But seeds are cheap!"

Look. I live in the desert. My soil is sand with little organic material or nutrients. I'd have to condition it and that costs money.

"Compost!"

I don't really have the means or permission to do that right now.

"Go native!"

Nothing I'd love more, but again, money.

Also, I don't have my own property to really do much. At least I can do a little at my parents. Or I would if I could.

I feel like half of the annoying aspects of the Internet would be stopped if no one could get online until they were 30 years old

i take this back

If I hadn't had the Internet I would not be the person I am today. I wouldn't have had access to the information that helped me escape the political right and Christian fundamentalism.

Everyone deserves a chance to grow, everyone grows at different rates and by different means, and making mistakes is part and parcel of the process. There's a certain lack of graciousness in me saying the above. Like young folks haven't been good teachers, or like I myself am not still young and party to fallibility

I’m so mad that a t4 bacteriophage actually looks like that and that it’s appearance isn’t made up

this is how they look in all the models

this is how they actually look

like they really fucking look like that. in real life

viruses are literally such bullshit they have the nerve to look like this and they aren’t even ALIVE

this is by far my favorite safety/warning sign btw. they really went off with this one

No cuz I fucking love this sign. It’s not an actual barrier so it’s not like some sort of challenge it simply says “fuck around and you will find out”

Ohohoho I LOVE “fuck around and find out” signs, especially the really dramatic and ominous (but true) ones

(Context for the last one: it’s a WWII era sign posted around the soldiers’ washroom mirror, warning them to never discuss military plans in places where civilians could hear them and report back to the enemy, e.g. in restaurants and pubs in the country. “Loose lips sink ships”.)

I also love these two, which I would place in the category of “You already fucked around, now you’re about to find out.”

Aerated water is fucking scary. It's water that has a fuckton of gas in it, which reduces the buoyancy to the point where you will immediately start to sink if you fall in.
