I was thinking about That Line in i h8 it here. About picking another decade.

I was contemplating WHY the 1830s? Why not the 20s, 40s, etc, when they all scan the same. It doesn't feel random. It feels to me like she's specifically referencing wanting to go back to a time before information could be easily and widely relayed.

The telephone was patented in the 1870s. But then i had a thought.

So Morse code and the telegraph were developed in the 1830s.

You wanna go back to a time when the way that information was relayed through letters-- direct, confessional or conversational messages to individuals --that could take weeks, months, years to be understood. With the newest technology being the delivery of coded messages? Messages that were still limited in their spread. Messages that not everyone would understand-- dots and dashes as stand ins for individual letters.

Ok. OKAYYYY.
