it’s not even that they broke up.  it’s not even close to being about the fact that they broke up.

it’s just…the disrespect.  which has already said by a hundred far more articulate people, i know, but i fell asleep thinking about this last night (lucky me) and so i gotta say it.

the way that we left mickey was the way you’d leave some minor character that’s more of a joke than anything else.  the annoying boyfriend/girlfriend that no one liked but one of the main characters stupidly dated mostly for laughs.  some recurring guest star.  janine or whatshername from Friends.  they treated him like a fucking joke.  like it really was funny that sammi might maybe…oh you know….KILL HIM?

and if that was it, how dare you, Shameless?  if you wanted it to be a sad ending, you get your fucking pen or your computer and WRITE THAT SHIT.  make it hurt, make us bleed, make us fucking understand, even if we hate it.  do not take a character like mickey, who not only means so much to this fandom but who has garnered this show so much attention and so many glowing reviews, and gag-reel him off of your show.  DO NOT do that to a fucking amazing actor like Noel Fisher, who deserved his last chance to break our hearts.  who deserved to be sent off with the respect that he has EARNED.

and even if it wasn’t the end, and i’m praying it wasn’t (and i think there’s a good chance it wasn’t, seriously) that is still such disrespectful and stupid way to end it.  Mickey was treated like the kingdom’s fool.  he was treated like he didn’t matter.  WE were treated like we didn’t matter.

and for that, fuck you, Shameless.

lol Cameron Monaghan for “best supporting actor in a comedy

yeah his material this season was hilarious. i know i laughed out loud when he kidnapped an infant and drove him around in a hot car without any food or diapers for like 24 hours. oh and then the part where he left the baby in the car and the kid could have died. and then the part where he came back and genuinely thought the police were trying to kidnap his kid and he freaked out and he was terrified and crying? i almost pissed my pants laughing.

how about how a 17 year old boy turning to various forms of sex work because he wasn’t able to accurately assess risk anymore? that was side-splitting. the only way it could have been funnier is if he’d caught some kind of std!

oh! remember how he finally checked into the hospital and he got assaulted by a guard and then regaled the doctor with his hilarious tales of his mother leaving him on a street corner while she went to buy drugs? lmao, amirite?

oh and then when he got out of the hospital, his family treated him like absolute dogshit and kept comparing him to his drug addicted mother who abandoned them, and every time they did he looked like his soul died a little? soooo funny!

Okay, so don't shoot my head off. I think it's terrible that the showrunners continue to class Shameless as a comedy, don't get me wrong. But the award is not for best supporting comedy actor, it's for best supporting actor in a comedy. Cameron is an incredibly talented actor in what they are deeming to be a comedy. This is the recognition available right now. So yes be pissed, but acknowledge that this nomination doesn't necessarily suggest that he is playing a comedic character.

“Love Songs (in the Key of Gallagher)” perfectly highlights all the ways that season 5 went wrong. Showtime is notorious for having their programs go downhill after incredible first seasons, but Shameless seemed to avoid the Showtime curse with agility. Every season was unique but managed to feel like a cohesive part of the same show about a wild, fiercely loyal family that was cursed with more than their fair share of bad luck. But season 5 has been one misstep after another.

This is the most accurate review I’ve seen yet. A must read!

mickey has been abused and beaten his whole life

do you remember how mandy said ‘Since when does anyone needs a reason to pistol-whip mickey?’, because she was so desensitized to violence they were experiencing in their everyday life?

and finally terry is out of his life and he is with ian for good and he is pretty stable and he is trying to deal his past (yev) and ian’s disorder and tries to support his partner in any way he can and the writers decide that he needs a punch to the face for his trouble? what the fuck is wrong with those people
