Just a warning - I won’t be using this blog for much longer.

I’m not deleting because I have a lot of content I loved and created and learned from. And it will be used as a great resource. But I want to make a newer space so I can be comfortable sharing my thoughts again.

Thanks so much for following me here. I love you all for the support and kindness you’ve given me. I’ll let you know once I’ll stop using this blog for good (but I’d start unfollowing now if I were you).

This is it guys. I’m not going to be around here any longer. This is my last post in this blog. Please feel free to unfollow since there is no use anymore.

It’s been almost 2 years since I had this blog. I’ll miss this, I learned so much here. So here’s to hoping I’ll learn more.

Wish you all the very best. <3

People aren’t talkin about the news, they’re talking about what they think the news is. There is no news channel saying “This is what happened, draw your own conclusions.” We have made this country so bereft of critical thinking, that now we have a problem where we have to teach them to think for themselves. We have no unified authority, or problem solvers. We have congressman discussing environmentalism, when they don’t understand half the problems our earth is going through. We go to congress instead of going to people who have worked their whole LIFE trying to solve these problems. When it comes to racism, we’re asking a panel of white dudes, when it comes to sexism and woman’s rights we ask a panel of white priests on what they think. IT’S INSANITY! We ask people who are not in the arena they should be speaking in/for. AND THAT’S WHY WE DON’T trust the media, it’s because they’re not in the arena of black experience, and they don’t care about the black experience, UNTIL something bad happens and they have the tools to paint us as destructive, ugly and evil!

As a 19-year-old sophomore at Stanford, Elizabeth Holmes decided to transform diagnostic medicine so she dropped out of college and used her tuition money to start her own company, Theranos. Ten years later, Holmes, pictured here holding a micro-vial, is on the cutting edge of medical technology — her new blood testing method allows hundreds of tests to be run using only a few drops of blood. And, Holmes’ methods are cheaper, faster, more accurate, and less invasive than conventional methods which often require a separate vial of blood for every test. As Holmes told Wired.com earlier this year, “I started this company because I wanted to spend my life changing our health care system. When someone you love gets really sick, most of the time when you find out, it’s too late to be able to do something about it. It’s heartbreaking… We wanted to make actionable health information accessible to people everywhere at the time it matters most. That means two things: being able to detect conditions in time to do something about them and providing access to information that can empower people to improve their lives.”

Reasons you should adore Elizabeth Holmes:

  • She is featured as Forbes’ youngest self-made woman billionaire.
  • Her tests will revolutionize the public health world as we know it; Making diagnostic testing accessible and affordable for more people (and potentially saving Medicare and Medicaid ~$100 billion each over the next decade). (x)
  • She is a coauthor on 82 US and 189 foreign patent applications. (x)
  • Her fear of needles served as a motivator for launching Theranos. (x)

Dark skin is just so beautiful like how can someone not see the beauty in dark skin? It’s just so sad that some people with the most beautiful skin cannot see how truly beautiful they are. Dark skin is so smooth, even, deep and gorgeous. God wasn’t playing when he made dark skin, it’s mere proof of his existence.

…And then the Program Director taught us how to deal with all the psychos.

and this is why I immediately distrust psychology majors/grad students

Psychology is often a broken field. Don’t even get me started on how very wrong some mental health professionals can be in their thinking. This is why mental health needs to stop being stigmatized. If you can’t find a mental health professional you can trust, you can’t get the help you need. So then we have this common thing where people self-medicate, become worse, do irrational things that affect themselves or others negatively which they can’t take back. And mental health “professionals” who treat patients like they’re less than human. Just… this needs to stop. To begin with, people need to treat mental health like any other illness and stop pretending it makes someone evil or untouchable.
