Oh hi! So funny cause I was just randomly lamenting about Kol the other day…

Hmm. A realistic romance? I think there would have to be an insurmountable amount of heat. And a lot of cat and mouse. Kol enjoys games and torment far too much to let himself fall hard or fast, and he would never make it easy for the other person. After all, the thrill of it is like foreplay for him.

But even once he does, stubbornly, accept defeat it’s still not going to be all rainbows and roses. I imagine fiery tension and arguments about his lack of emotional intimacy. And once he has succumbed to this love, he’s all in. So he’ll try, but it won’t come naturally. He’s never really known how to be loved and how to reciprocate. And that’ll frustrate him. And he’ll project until it causes another argument but eventually he will find the right words and actions - albeit, they might have had to be fed to him.

And maybe they aren’t flowery and affectionate, but that’s where compromise comes in. Because love is shown in different shapes and forms. Kol won’t show love in tender touches and surprise showers of gifts. That’s too pretentious for him. He’s direct about expressing how he feels and what he wants. His surprises would be more along the lines of a scavenger hunt where he’s the grand prize. His kisses are more possessive than sweet. His narcissism won’t ever let the other person get the last word, but he will always make sure they finish first. Multiple times.

Honestly, the only way I see a romance with Kol playing out is if there were someone as wickedly playful as he is, that wouldn’t take his shit and wouldn’t judge his dark delights, but join in. And they’d have to be patient as hell because he will fuck it up so many times before he gets it right.
