donation update
quick recap: we raised over $800 to help families fleeing gaza.
although the border remains blocked by israeli tanks during the invasion of rafah, fundraisers remain open in the hopes that they will be able to escape soon.
with the money that we raised together, i was able to donate $210 each to four different families, in the hopes that it will help them reach their goal and escape the ongoing genocide.
i've included links to their profiles below, as well as a bit about them. screenshots of the donations have been posted to my ko-fi.
Zena Abu Alouf zena has been posting tiktoks of the ongoing attacks in rafah. she was displaced from the north of gaza, and is one of the key voices reporting on the genocide from the ground.
Dr. Baraa Abu Shawish baraa and her husband are both doctors who have been administering aid since the attacks began. her daughter mila is only six months old. she has not been able to receive any of her vaccines due to the crisis in gaza.
Rawan Daoud rawan is 20 years old. she is an excellent student who dreamed of pursuing higher education, but her university was destroyed by israeli bombs, and her family was displaced.
Ghada Al-Jaafrawi ghada is a mother of two young children, 7 year old juri and 4 year old muhammad. her home was destroyed, and she has been sharing her story on tiktok. she is trying to raise money in the hopes that her family will be able to cross the border into egypt.
there are so many more families still trying to raise funds, and the situation in rafah continues to escalate.
if you want to get involved, operation olive branch has an extensive list of resources, active fundraisers, and other aid projects. any additional money that comes in through my ko-fi will also be matched and donated.
every single family deserves to be safe.
