MAIYET x TURQUOISE MOUNTAIN MYANMAR

In collaboration with Turquoise Mountain and the Suu Foundation in Myanmar, Maiyet has developed a small jewelry collection to celebrate and aid in the preservation of Myanmar traditional craft while supporting local artisans and their families. This capsule of six elegant designs features locally sourced rare spinel stones and hand-forged Burmese gold. The recurring triangular motif chosen for this collection takes inspiration from ancient   designs of rural potters and is a sign of good karma—a perfect harmony with Maiyet’s commitment to artisans all over the world.

The Maiyet x Lily Kwong capsule is a limited edition botanical-inspired collection celebrating the organic harmony found between artisan craft and landscape design. Much like the nuances of Lily's breathtaking living wall, currently on display at our Soho flagship store, each element of this hand block printed motif is prearranged, color coded, and thoughtfully placed to create a vibrant vertical masterpiece that perfectly expresses our shared passion for fashion, sustainability, and the natural world.

Lily Kwong worked with Maiyet to create a capsule collection mixing botanical inspiration with block printing. To create block printed textile patterns, a master craftsperson hand-chisels wood blocks into detailed designs. Each block is then carefully inked and placed onto the fabric in a precise, interlocking pattern. The artisan must apply uniform pressure to ensure a successful printing. The resulting textile is meticulously crafted and carries with it a palpable touch.
