yo recently I heard that Naruto is the one who said "Usuratonkachi" to Sasuke first when they were little in school.

I assume this was added later on in the story, but if Naruto basically coined it first and Sasuke picked it up later, that would add extra cuteness to their bond

but since you can read the original jp script for the manga, I figured you might be able to check on the validity of that in the manga.

I don't quite know if it's filler for the anime or not~

thanks and sorry for taking up your time

Avatar

It was in ch. 538 I've already talked about it here , here , and here

In the anime it was in ep. 277

On the first day they fought at the academy, the words Naruto said to him, ``Usuratonkachi''... maybe those words had a surprisingly strong impact on Sasuke. To begin with, Sasuke has nothing to do with the image of "Usuratonkachi". All the time the fans screamed "Sasuke is so cool/Sasuke is so awesome", Naruto was the first person to call Sasuke "usuratonkachi" and directly swears at him. He listened intently to the nonsense Naruto spewed out and began to make it his own.[it shows that Sasuke remembered that encounter very well]. We all know how Sasuke observed Naruto since childhood and he started thinking/worrying about him a lot.

During their first encounter, Naruto provoked Sasuke by saying "Usuratonkachi". Their match ended when Sasuke pushed Naruto down and raised his fist.

And without making any sign of reconciliation with each other.

Sasuke left the village, and Naruto, who chases him desperately finally catches up with him in the Valley of the End. The two of them standing face to face in the Valley of the End... And Sasuke greets Naruto with "usuratonkachi"

When Naruto says that the others are risking their lives for him...Sasuke sarcastically said, "What a (pointless) effort" or "you're working so hard for nothing." It provoked Naruto, and made him jump at him and raise his fist... and hit him. (This is the opposite of what happened on their first meeting)

What's really interesting is that the place they chose to part ways was on top of a stone statue of Madara and Hashirama with the "Seal of Confrontation". Sasuke &Naruto only did the "Seal of Confrontation", but what they really wanted was:

Because of their ego's they couldn't do the sign before. They always wanted to be friends, even if they couldn't admit it out loud. Both admired and liked each other. But they couldn't accept and come to terms with how they felt inside.

He couldn't kill Naruto….he even got chances to do that… but it was something he couldn't do. After the Vote 1 fight, Sasuke had to sealed the word ``Usuratonkachi'' for a long time. Because, over the time "Usuratonkachi'' gradually became a word that acknowledge the existence of Naruto. And the word completely acknowledging "Naruto's competitive nature''

As for Vote 2, I've talked about it here and here

A long time ago, Naruto gave Sasuke the Usuratonkachi as a ``Sign of Confrontation,'' but Sasuke gave it back to Naruto as a ``Sign of Reconciliation". This final battle between Naruto and Sasuke is also a battle in which Sasuke accepts and acknowledges his own weakness (his desire to connect with Naruto).

Male fans say sns holding hands with blood is not romance because it is the unison symbol.

*rolls my eyes*

First of all, it's not "just" anything because the whole point is that Naruto and Sasuke can hold hands even when they don't have hands. And their blood surely makes it look like they are fully encircling their hands.

But more importantly. Look at what Kishi wrote.

He made Naruto falter due to Neji's death, then have Hinata give him a long speech/pep talk about Neji and ninja way which made Naruto stand up and fight again. But. Not long after, he was struggling again due to many people dying and Shikamaru being near death, and Sasuke picked him up with just TWO LINES. No long speech needed. These are similar on purpose. People dying, Obito taunting Naruto, Naruto losing it, and then a pep talk.

Naruto's thoughts just kept coming after Sasuke's two lines. Sasuke was of course pleased with how much hold he has over Naruto. But yes, do you see how Kishi made two similar scenes to show how special Sasuke is to Naruto? He had to give some crumb to NH, but he didn't want to be too nice about it.

Even better: Naruto holding Hinata's hand to share the kyuubi chakra with her was the last scene of them interacting with each other. NH fans hold this scene in high regard and proof of their romance. But Kishimoto really went and cut the hand Naruto used when holding Hinata’s hand and made Naruto hold hands with Sasuke without his hand. He was saying, they don't have hands, but that's mere inconvenience, they are truly connected, they don't need hands to hold hands! Not to mention, with Hinata Naruto looks like he's being held at gunpoint (how Kishi surely felt drawing this scene), while with Sasuke he looks content, at peace, despite the fact his arm has been cut off and is bleeding.

Kishi has done this before the war arc too.

Hinata confesses her feelings to Naruto in Pain arc, how because of him she didn't go down the wrong path, how she wanted to be by his side, how she kept chasing after him, and then saying she's not afraid to die for him. Naruto tells Sasuke in the next arc how because of Sasuke he finally had a bond and didn't go down the wrong path, how he wanted to be around Sasuke, how he kept chasing after him, and then saying he's ready to die with Sasuke and reunite in the next world.

And while Naruto ignored Hinata's confession, Sasuke kept Naruto's words to him and thought about them even during the war arc. He also thought about their vow. Again, Kishi showing his preference, what truly is his otp.

Of course, SS/NH will say, well just because it's romantic in NH doesn't mean it's romantic in NS! Because they're homophobic. Because their modest intellect can't make them understand Kishi wrote these moments very close to each other, and that he's the writer, and that this was obviously all intended and calculated. Funny how the manga is riddled with countless "coincidences", it's almost like they aren't coincidences... lol.

"Kishimoto make sasuke and naruto gay intentionally and not on accident" Okay then so why did he go on multiple interviews insisting that naruto and sasuke's relationship is brotherly and is inspired from his twin brother and that people shouldn't interpret their bond as romantic but platonic?? Source : https://twitter* com/uchihassasusaku/status/1419104011265974275?

If a writer writes homoerotic subtext in his material and expects people to read the material as romantic, he doesnt go around calling the characters "siblings" and asking people to not interpret their dynamic as romantic because then people wont read into his queer subtext like he wanted to

Ship what you want to ship. But stop acting like everyone should buy into your delusions. Kishimoto never said or implied that he wanted naruto and sasuke to be seen as gay but he did say many times that their relationship is brotherly

Ah, another shipper who ships a ship where creator implied twice they never kissed. And whose couple never had a meaningful conversation in a 700 chapter manga. And linking me to some SS stan who gave Elon Musk money for bluecheck mark. 🤣 A good ground to stand on. Okay, I will guide you by the hand since you don't seem to understand. It's okay, illiteracy is a common problem these days. I will put this in easy sections for you, with added links.

Also you and your "queer" nonsense... we are talking about gay, homosexuality. Not slurs.

About the interviews:

The Kizuna thing isn't even written by him, it's an article by another person. These books aren't written by the mangakas ever, they do not have the time nor is the article written from Kishi's pov. Shocker, people write a lot of things in anime merchandise that the creator isn't even involved in. [link] If it were written by Kishi, then an interviewer wouldn't have had to ask Kishi years later whether brotherly relationship was what he was going for with Naruto and Sasuke's bond, and Kishi wouldn't have had given such a cryptic answer where he mulls over it. Because he would have given the answers years back already. Also the fact that he's asked to define their relationship shows how weird it is to the readers. He NEVER told people to not interpret their relationship as romantic. And personally, I have seen movies and a comic where two characters referred to each other as brothers, and their creator referred to them as "soul brothers" but later revealed them to also have romantic feelings.

But I don't expect your mind to be able to comprehend things like this, it does require a little bit of 1+1=2 math. The interview about Seishi is about the feeling of empathy, not that they are literally Naruto and Sasuke's characters. It is one aspect. Kishi has joked about how Naruto and Sasuke are him and his editor too, because he will try to impress his editor. So? And he has said Kushina is based on his wife. So Naruto is him and Kushina is his wife? Why aren't you freaking about this freudian stuff? I know why. I also remember someone saying if Kishi REALLY saw his relationship with his brother as the exact same as Naruto and Sasuke, his brother would need a restraining order against him. It was funny and accurate.

I have wrote about the inconsistencies in his interviews and what shows that he definitely didn't write their dynamic as the same as with his brother despite having one aspect of it [link] and here is another post talking about it more deeply (they also linked my post I just mentioned) [link]. This post also explains how Kishimoto wrote Naruto constantly to do what Sakura can't for Sasuke, and she also included many links to my other posts where I talk about how Kishi wrote Sakura and Sasuke's dynamic, which you can also read if you feel like it. Unless you are scared of being proved wrong, you will read those right, or at least the linked post itself?

About how the audience perceives their dynamic:

The thing is, you and SS fandom don't understand how stories are written. Authors don't do stuff randomly. They use narrative and literary devices to tell their story. Kishi himself has remarked on it many times how careful he is about writing characters, how much he does research, how careful he is about angles etc. [link] If Naruto and Sasuke's relationship was written as brotherly in the text, in the manga, it wouldn't make a bunch of people uncomfortable. There wouldn't have been meltdowns after specific chapters nor would we have people saying when the manga was going on that they are annoyed by the "gay stuff". [link] [link] [link] (there are many more, but here's some collections for an example). Here's one more talking about the Japanese fandom. [link]

When Luffy was saving Ace in Impel Town/Marineford arc, no one in the dudebro community was uncomfortable nor saying it was gay. Eventhough it was a touching and dramatic storyline that showed us how much the two cared about each other. When Alibaba and Cassim were having their past and relationship unravelled in Magi, no one was uncomfortable. Eventhough it was tragic and dramatic and touching yet again. Because despite neither of these pairs being blood-brothers, they were WRITTEN to have a brotherly dynamic/development/relationship in the text, in their behavior. Which is why this also translated to the audience successfully.

If Naruto and Sasuke were written to be brotherly, they would refer to each other as such, including in Boruto, and would tell other people such as well. Hell, they would be proud to tell other people that this person they respect and admire the most is like a brother to them. But they don't. Naruto even told Hagoromo they aren't siblings, but friends. Sasuke said he has only one brother and that is Itachi. If they were brotherly, Kishi wouldn't make Naruto kiss Sasuke, even if accidentally, and have that to be their first interaction. He wouldn't say he wants to be the first one to have rivals kiss in shounen. Not a single brotherly relationship in media is written like this. You know, tropes matter. He wouldn't have Sasuke think fondly about the kiss as one of his most precious memories when he is dying, while years later implying more than once Sasuke never kissed Sakura lol. He wouldn't say Sakura had her first kiss stolen by her rival Naruto. He wouldn't make Sakura be jealous of Naruto's importance to Sasuke, while also giving her zero importance in saving Sasuke. He would not constantly make fun of Sakura by having her be thirsty/desperate for Sasuke's attention, any little crumb from him, while Sasuke ignores her and focuses on Naruto. Kishi knows how his writing comes off. Plenty of people, both men and women who weren't shippers, made jokes about Sasuke going "where's Naruto? hey Naruto" whenever Sakura speaks. Because Kishi made it such a constant dynamic with the three of them. People who have the basic amount of media literacy will get it, and thus all those jokes and memes were born. [link] [link] [link]

If they were brotherly, the anime studio wouldn't have them make eyes at each other while lyrics "please kiss me all night" play in the background, aside from all the other gay ops/ends with romantic lyrics to them. And since Kishi watches the anime, he would have probably point out it's weird. That's what I would do if I wrote about my relationship with my brother and people did that. Magi anime didn't have Alibaba and Cassim in romantic endings...

Kishi wouldn't put this in the movie he made if he wanted them to appear as brothers. Everyone was saying this looked gay/homoerotic when the movie dropped. I saw men on forums say "lol this looks so homoerotic, why did he have to catch Sasuke like that" and even in Chinese theaters people were giggling during this scene. Because it's so in your face fanservice. And Kishi said he cares about angles a lot in his story and that he redraws them if they aren't good enough to drive the message home. So what exactly does that tell you?

People usually aren't sexual about their brother

He wouldn't sexualize and put so much homoeroticism surrounding Sasuke's character, if Sasuke was solely inspired by his brother. You know, unless he had a questionable obsession with his brother. [link]

He wouldn't make Naruto literally get sexually excited when about to fight Sasuke lol [link] [link] that's so obvious Japanese men got amused, uncomfortable and even angry about it, if Sasuke and Naruto were him and his brother.

Romantic tropes/brotherly tropes are not the same

The fact Kishimoto's het couples parallel Naruto and Sasuke's dynamic is very evident. If "brotherly" relationship resembles romantic couples by the same author instead of the other brother dynamics he has written, guess what, it's not written as a brother dynamic lol. Again, proof that he didn't write their dynamic as brotherly. Both Mario/Saori [link] [link] and Minato/Kushina [link] [link] parallel Naruto/Sasuke and have the same tropes as them.

Raikage/Killer B is written as a normal brother relationship. Itachi/Sasuke is written as a complicated brother relationship with a lot of tragedy. Shikamaru/Choji is written as a normal friendship. Kakashi/Obito is written as a complicated friendship with a lot of tragedy. Naruto/Sasuke resembles the romantic relationships Kishimoto wrote, instead of these ones I mentioned. Even in their world, Naruto's actions are seen as irrational and obsession, and the weirdness of it all is constantly pointed out, by Sai, Kabuto, Sakura, Raikage, Itachi. This is a choice Kishi made when he wrote them. [link]

He also made a homage to Devilman and Akira/Ryo relationship that even people in the Japanese fandom noticed. [link] He specifically picked the chapter where Ryo admits having romantic feelings for Akira, and the fight (which parallels Vote2) ending with Ryo realizing how deep his feelings for Akira lie. Kishimoto would not do that if Naruto and Sasuke were based on him and his brother. Why would he pick a character famous for being gay for his best friend/enemy in a chapter where we finally get to see inside Sasuke's head?

Aside from paralleling Hinata's feelings towards Naruto in the Pain arc with Naruto's feelings towards Sasuke in the very next arc, he also foreshadowed a romantic double-suicide with Naruto and Sasuke during said arc. ROMANTIC. [link]

Sasuke on the other hand, was never satisfied with Naruto calling him brother or friend. If their relationship was strictly brotherly, they wouldn't need to ponder about the nature of their relationship, because that's not how any brotherly relationship is written in media. [link]

Kishimoto dislikes SS and talks about Sakura's "love" negatively more than once. [link] Sakura's love is selfish, toxic... yet this doesn't mean anything. Sakura wanted to save Sasuke, yet the one Sasuke said saved him was Naruto.

Now think hard. Use the modest intellect you possess. So aside from Kishimoto having Naruto show sexual attraction towards Sasuke to the point it made Japanese men uncomfortable, he also used romantic tropes (one of them being double-suicide which a writer Kishimoto admires is famous for because he mostly wrote romantic plays ending in that) and romantic parallels to show Naruto's feelings towards Sasuke multiple times, which he did not use for other male friendships in the manga. To the point many Japanese men wondered why Kishimoto "has to push homosexual agenda with Naruto's character", despite the fact he's supposed to be " a normal/good guy". All of these things somehow do not mean anything, nor do the multiple other things I have pointed out on my blog.

I'm not asking you to "buy" into anything, because understanding Naruto is a love story between Naruto and Sasuke and that Kishimoto does not even like Sakura let alone SS would require a little bit of reading comprehension and common sense. Which you and the person you linked sacrificed at the pink altar of Sakura worship, because to you not having anything in common with your partner nor having anything meaningful to talk about nor knowing anything about each other is somehow love. To you having someone else help and understand the person you love because you can't somehow makes an ideal relationship. You mistake Sakura's onesided melodrama for love. She has never said anything meaningful about Sasuke's character, neither has Sasuke said anything meaningful about her. Yet you believe Kishi wrote some deep relationship between them. How am I supposed to reason with someone like that? But your gaslighting doesn't phase me, I have seen all this before many times, it's old news by now. You can call me delusional all you want, but I trust my own understanding thank you very much. It's not like that much is even required, as proven by how many people, even the ones that don't have any need to (casual viewers, straight men, etc.) see it, still see it. Because it is that obvious that only desperate need to not see it blinds someone like you from seeing it.

I'm actually working on another post about Narusasu and Kishi's writing tools regarding it, so stay tuned 🩷

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"

It is used to confess to someone you like while under the moon. This phrase is a more poetic way of saying 'I love you'. [it's also an indirect way of saying "I love you"] Japanese itself is a very "indirect" language. You don't have to admit things directly because that's impolite or rude. Why I say that is bcz, Kishi place them under the full moon to share their feelings indirectly and also directly. Japanese people prefer indirect ways of expressing their feelings and emotions. A relationship starts when people tell each other their feelings. Expressing your feelings through words has not always been seen as a natural thing. People express their love and affection through their actions. [Although the main ways of expressing love in Japanese culture differ from Western culture]

What does "friend" mean to you??

[Notice how Sasuke averts his eyes from Naruto (as if he's shy or nervous to get a confession from him) while asking 'what does friend mean to him'?]

Raw (Naruto): 友達だからだ

Romaji: tomodachi... dakarada

Literal: because we're friends

Raw (Sasuke): それはかつて聞いた... お前にとってのそれは・・・ いったい何なんだ?

Romaji: sore wa katsute kīta ... omae nitotte no sore wa ・・・ ittai nanina nda?

Literal: I heard that before... but what the heck does that mean to you?

[As Naruto continues to give the same 'we're friends' response, he becomes visibly angry, clearly displeased with the answer]

Raw: それ説明しろって言われてもオレも正直よく分かんねェーよそんなの…

Romaji: sore setsumei shiro tte iwarete mo ore mo shōjiki yoku wakanne yo sonna no …

Literal: Even if you ask me to explain it.... I honestly don't properly understand... that kind of thing...

Raw: ただお前のそーゆー背負ってゴチャゴチャしてるとこ見てっと・・なんでか・・

Romaji: tada omae no so you seotte gochagocha shiteru toko mite tto... nande ka ...

Literal: It's just that.... When I see you carrying burden on your back... getting all messed up.... for some reason...

Raw: ・・・オレが・・・痛てーんだ

Romaji: ...ore ga... Itate nda

Literal: ...I'm.... hurting...

Raw: すっげー痛くてとてもじゃねーけどそのままほっとけねーん だってばよ!

Romaji: sugge itakute... totemo janē kedo sonomama hottokenē n dattebayo !

Literal: It exceedingly painful. But not just as awfully...as it is now...I can't just leave you alone, dattebayo!

The word Naruto using was 痛く(itaku) meaning- exceedingly or extremely pain. It's not just 'Ouch! It hurts!' kind of pain. It means HE IS IN "EXTREME PAIN". The magnitude and intensity of that 'pain' is so overwhelming that it affects your body and mind.

What was the reason for Naruto & Sasuke's pain to be more emotional??
N. B. When Naruto says that he understands the pain of Gaara's loneliness and Gaara says that he feels pain in his heart... the word used for pain in both cases is 「痛い」 (itaku). 「痛く」 (itaku) is a similar word, but with a more intense and deeper meaning.

Because of those words Naruto says to Sasuke, his face feels a mixture of emotions: touched, or surprised. Sasuke's expression here is probably one of the most emotional expressions you have ever seen. This made him confess his feelings for Naruto (And It was hella poetic (༎ຶ⌑༎ຶ)

In Sasuke's monologue his words are very deep and intense (the choice of Kanjis are complicated). It is also way too direct and carries a lot of intimacy.

Raw: そしてなぜだか安心したんだ

Romaji: soshite nazeda ka anshin shita nda

Literal: And I don't know why, somehow.... I felt relieved.

Raw: だがそれは...同時に弱さだと思った

Romaji: daga sore wa ... dōjini yowa sada to omotta

Literal: But... at the same time... I thought It was a weakness.

Raw: だから・・お前の苦しむ姿を見る度・・そう・・・オレも---

Romaji: dakara ... omae no kurushimu sugata o miru tabi ... sō... ore mo...

Literal: that's why. . . Every time I see you appearing to be suffering. . . that's right I, too...

Raw: オレが 痛くなったんだ

Romaji: ore ga itaku natta nda

Literal: I become pained.

Sasuke also using the same word 痛くand both of them were in such intense pain that words couldn't explain how much it was. It really gives- "If you truly love someone you can feel every joy, sadness and pain of the other as if they were your own". Once you get that, it's easy to understand his reaction to Naruto saying he felt his pain. Sasuke reacted that way because he realized his love was reciprocated. That this feeling of 'friendship' that Naruto was going on about was the same thing that Sasuke had been feeling all this time and it was never friendship. It was more than that. And It was love.

i actually have to kill myself… sasuke, mangekyō sharingan and rinnegan wielder, the only one with eyes worth comparing oneself to, tells boruto that he has naruto’s eyes… like are you listening. sasuke, who literally has THE eyes of all time, looks at boruto and is reminded of naruto’s eyes. the domesticity… the gentleness… the subtlety of this sort of romance. it’s so personal to me. like girl naruto doesn’t have any eyes worth remembering!!!!! but if you’re in love with him, oh then of course naruto’s eyes are worth remembering. of course you’ll take the chance to tell his son he has your lover’s eyes, because naruto is so special to sasuke that he’s the only one he thinks of, and the only one he’s always thinking of. sasuke on this pedestal of having the most gifted eyes known in his universe, having risked everything just to have these eyes, remember’s naruto’s blue eyes in the face of his son, devoid of any power besides the fact they belong to the only person sasuke loves.

Swear words & insults

(Naruto & Sasuke only)

1. くそ (kuso) = shit/damn

Kuso is basically means 'Shit' and you can use it for 'damn'. You can use it when you are losing or when something unpleasant happens. Kuso is a very versatile word. kuso is commonly used as a swear word+ or exclamation of frustration, comparable to “shit!”

You can say kuso in many ways like: くそ! (Kuso) /くそー! (Kusoo) / くっそー! (Kussoo) / くっそオー! (Kussoooo) = damn!

2. クソヤロー (kusoyarou) = fucking/stupid bastard; son of a bitch; shit guy

ヤロー means son of a bitch/bastard. It usually used towards men. Kusoyarou is a harsh word than bakayarou.

Other words used by Naruto in the panel:

このクソ (kono Kuso) = This shit / (you) piece of shit

うんこ (unko) means poop or shit. It consider a more childish way of saying " Poop".

'no yarou' uses after somebody's name. Name + no yarou. サスケのヤロー (Sasuke no yarou) = Sasuke, you bastard.

アロエヤロー (aroe + yarou = Aloe bastard)

バカヤロー (baka yarou) = Fucking/stupid bastard; son of a bitch; Idiot guy; dumbass

あのヤロー (ano yarou) = That bastard; That son of a bitch

3. クソ喰らえ (kuso kurae) = fuck you! ; Eat shit!

クソ (kuso) means "shit". 食らえ (kurae) means "eat this!" or "take this!"

4. バカ (baka) & あほ (aho)

  • 「バカ」 「ばか」 「馬鹿」 (baka) = stupid or Idiot. Baka is often written in katakana to emphasize the word. Katakana can be sometimes used like capital letters. Baka more common in the Kanto region eg: Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, chiba, Gunma etc.
  • 「あぼ」 「アホ」 「 阿保」 (aho) = stupid / idiot / silly. Aho is often written in katakana. The kanji one is the least common style. Aho is more common in the kansai region eg: Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, Hyogo etc.

5. 子ども (Kodomo) = Child

People use kodomo to say 'you are a child' or 'childish'. You're still a child, huh?...Naruto!

6. カス (kasu) = (you) piece of shit/Scum

カスやろう (kasu-yarou) = scumbag; fucking/stupid bastard; son of a bitch

Kasu is harsher and worse than kuso (yarou) or bakka (yarou)

7. ガキ (Gaki) = Brat

この ガキィ(Kono Gakī) = This/You brat!

Gaki refers to a child. It uses when a child is annoying or it uses as a negative sense to refer to someone who is childish. It is a bad/vulgar slang.

If you add kuso in Gaki :

クソガキ (kuso gaki) = shitty brat; little shit; bastard

8. ちくしょう (chikushou) = Damn it!

Chikushou uses when something bad happens or when you are upset.

The final match of the chunin exams

In ch. 98, Neji was warming up for his match with Naruto. And in the nxt page it shows, Naruto who didn't sleep well due to the nervousness of thinking about his fight with Neji.

In the final day of the Chunin Exam Naruto had gone to the training ground. Why did he go there in the first place? Was it because he was confident that Sasuke would be the one he was going to fight? Or did he walk into that place unknowingly??. Whatever the reason, he didn't expect anyone to be in that place anyway. So, when Hinata asked him why he was there, he said that this was were he became a Genin. But when she asked the 'why' question again, he tried to avoid it.

H: 「どうして?」 = dōshite? = Why? (It is used for asking the reason)

N: 「ベ... べつに! そんなのどーだっていいじゃ ん!」 = be... betsu ni ! sonna no doudatte ii jan! = N-Nothing....! That doesn't matter/ I don't care about that!

べつに which imparts dismissive undertones when you use it with いいじゃん. He's adding 「いいじゃん」 it usually uses to make your point, express your frustration, complain or to talk back to someone. そんなの can be used in a conversation when you have no interest in what the other say.

Still nervous about his match but at the same time he was worried about Sasuke vs Gaara match so he went to 'that ' training ground. If he is not going there for training, what is his reason for visiting this place? Even if he says there is no particular reason, we all know the right reason, right?

This was where he becomes a genin. This was the place where Sasuke had offered his bento to Naruto. Sasuke has a goal and has been working hard since his young age to kill his brother, but at the time, all he cared about was feeding a hungry little fox his lunch, and ignoring all warnings that giving Naruto something to eat would disqualify him.

The same place brought Naruto (as well as Sakura) memories of Sasuke.

This is so funny lol...Kishi didn't let this slide in gaiden either... When Hinata made a bento for Naruto-Kun and all Naruto could think about is Sasuke when he gave his bento during his Bell Test.

While the others, including Neji, were at the training grounds for training, and Naruto was there to recalls about his 'The Bento' moments with Sasuke.

Shikamaru was looking for his opponent Dosu among them and Naruto wondering when Sasuke would show up.

When it was time to think about his fight with Neji, Naruto's immediate concern was about Gaara and his brute strength (seen in the hospital when Gaara tried to kill Lee)... and He was ofcourse worried about Sasuke.

His was excited hearing next match was Sasukes. He literally cannot control his emotional response when he heard about him.

He encourages him not to lose to Gaara and declares that he wants to fight him. [lol susuke's face when naruto suddenly called his name] Just like after the second exam, it was Sasuke who gave him his acknowledgement....which gave him anticipation to fight him in the chunin exams. Now it's his chance to say it out loud to him in this final round.

Naruto and Shikamaru were completely stunned by Gaara's power. Because he killed those two guys just like that....and it's terrifying to watch him walking through a pool of their blood.

But as soon as Naruto realized that Sasuke would die if the fight went on any longer...The thought of it terrifies him and he shivers all over...but he puts it aside and runs to Kakashi to stop the fight.

So Naruto was nervous about his match in the chunin finals, but he was more worried about Sasuke, which shows how much he cares about him. He's the one who yelled at the others not to give up... but when it comes to Sasuke, he can't stand it and goes to great lengths to stop the fight for Sasuke's safety.

Just wanted to say, Sasuke winking at Sakura was never happened in the manga, it was a translation error.

The translators at VIZ are fine, but they miss things, or by censoring or translate things differently, or change the context of certain words and scenes. In some places they mistranslated things, in other places they changed things, and in other places they were really inconsistent on whether or not they were going to mistranslate something. Another is that they miss nuances. VIZ translation and online scanlations are good and although both are sometimes equally inaccurate. I don't blame them or complain because a lot of people translating online put a lot of effort into it and try to portray it in the best quality possible.

But I hate VIZ for cutting out all the author text descriptions that are added at the beginning and end of each chapter. For eg:-

This is from VIZ. And now I'll show you how it looked on the official one and in the scanlation.

See the difference, do they really have to do this?

Ok now let's go see if Sasuke winks at Sakura or not.

The first one is from official VIZ translation and the bottom one is from the raw. The sound effect used in here is ニッ (ni) which means "smile; grin; smirk; heh". Thus it shows that he never winked at Sakura.

If you claim that the word bubble covered his left eye...let me show you something

Here Luffy was using second gear. Look at the orange bubble, it looks familiar, doesn't it? It's the same sfx 「ニッ」 used in the Sasuke panel. We can only see his back, but how do we know he is grinning, yes, it is because of the sfx used there. Without showing his face, we could tell he was actually grinning.

The same sfx is used here in this panel as well. Here both her eyes are shown closed.

If they're still claiming that Sasuke was winking, then I can only say that Luffy was winking at Blueno and that girl was winking while both her eyes were closed.

And I also wanna talk about Sasuke's leg shaking when he heard sakura's confession.

The sfx used in here is ピタ Pita = stops; freeze; pause. This same sfx used in VOTE 1

Sfx used in here ピタッ Pita . ッ added to make an onomatopoeia "stronger"

Sasuke was walking away while Sakura was confessing and he suddenly stopped and turned around to say, "You're really annoying." Sasuke was walking away in vote 1, and when he heard Naruto, he suddenly stopped, and turned around and called out his nickname, "yo, usuratonkachi"

If you want to know when Sasuke's legs start shaking/trembling, 1) it's during the UMC 2) when he's stuck against the wall and can't escape, and Itachi comes at him like he's going to pluck his eyes out. Sfx used in here is ガクガク (gaku gaku) - tremble tremble; shake shake

As for the sfx ガクッ (gaku) which means- Collapsing; losing strength; losing balance; slumping; bend with a jerk. In the first panel, he lose his balance and collapsing because what he's facing is not a dream, it's reality. The reality is that he lost his family and everyone. And he became alone. In the second panel he collapses due to the sudden pain in his shoulder.

The difference between how Sasuke treated Sakura and Naruto when he left Konoha.

When Sakura trying to make a conversation with Sasuke, he only showing his back the whole conversation.

But when Naruto tried to have a conversation with him, he turned around and faced him.

When Sakura confessed his feelings to him he says she's really annoying. This is the only time he turned around while having the whole conversation. Kishi is really insane, Sasuke never looks back this entire conversation, but when he does this whole panel is drawn just to show his irritation.

But when Naruto confessed his feelings... Sasuke awakened his third tomoe.

After he knocking out Sakura, he left

After knocking out Naruto…. he didn't leave and stood next to him. Man, look at this, how many pages did Kishi draw to show that Sasuke was with Naruto this whole time after Naruto was unconscious. Why he hesitate to leave him? Why is he looking at him so intently? What did he want to tell him?

His thank you and goodbye to Sakura.

To Naruto…he leans face to face with him. His face shows that he feels the pain in his heart. As like his emotions run high and he might feel to scream or cry suddenly. He feel lost.

naruting

wait the fact that sasuke thought naruto kissed him on purpose then proceeded to disregard everything so just so he could feed naruto and then when he “died” during the haku fight to protect naruto despite his own goals the last thing on his mind was the kiss

And then he couldn’t break his bond with naruto but everyone including orochimaru knew that sasuke had to be apart from naruto (even that hurt so much it’s compared to ripping his body in half) bc naruto was “changing his heart” and he needed to go thru with his goals. not that sasuke wanted to but needed to sever his bond with naruto because it held so much importance to him it was in a way his only weakness so by proxy getting rid of naruto would let him fufill his plans. naruto who sasuke regards as his one and only…

after the final fight both of them confess about their feelings and sasuke acknowledges that love is what makes naruto so strong when sasuke believed love is what made him weak so when he “loses” its to acknowledging that love is strength and so then sasuke says that he is saved by naruto and keeps the headband and stays armless as a reminder of his bond with naruto. thru out the whole series as much as naruto was looking for sasuke, sasuke had always been looking back… 😭
