Jeonghan had no idea how the flower-seller had found the fresh flowers now that winter was almost upon them, but had not asked for fear of giving himself away. The old woman had been so gushing about how lovely it was to see young love in bloom, yes, with her in the winter of her years, to see such a handsome young soldier with such a lovely bride, it did her heart good, yes it did! A beautiful bouquet for a beautiful young wife, no charge, to see them together was enough. Jeonghan was glad he had enough court training to give her a sweet smile rather than gag.

"I'm going to go find some firewood," Mingyu said. "If any bad guys come around, just go sit next to Doof. That horse has killed more men than I have.”
Jeonghan looked at the horse.
The horse looked back.
Jeonghan decided to stay under his own tree.
