A sigh escaped barely parted lips. She knew this conversation was bound to happen sooner or later. The first days after her return from the dead had been spent mainly in shock, everyone who once grieved her trying to get used to her presence again. Her father had hurried back from France and, with him, Isaac. Allison had been well aware of the last words he had heard coming out of her mouth, last words that should’ve been directed to him, but were said in the arms of someone else. 

It hurt because he couldn’t possibly understand what it was like to know your time is running out, to watch one of the people you cared most about suffering and in pain. The words had flowed and she didn’t realize how much pain they could’ve caused until the moment in which she was back.

      ❛ Isaac...this is not a matter of breaking your or not, I’m not trying to be nice, I’m telling         you the truth. What I told Scott...yes, I did love him, and a part of me always will; but I         was starting to love you too. There was so much I wanted to say...just not enough time. ❜

There was a small smile on her lips, something strange when it came to dealing with the werewolf. There had been a grudge between them for long, both of their families dictating that they would be enemies. But they were equals now, sharing the same kind. Allison had hidden her situation from the rest, faking her death. They were better off without her. With things how they were, however, Allison couldn’t stay far away from long. They needed her help, they needed her.

Lips pursed and eyebrows furrowed as Allison looked down between her own house and Stiles’. He was right, his was definitely better built than hers; at least it didn’t look slightly crooked like hers. However, she was a stubborn one and losing, even when it came to gingerbread houses, wasn’t something she particularly enjoyed.

He was strong and brave, two qualities that she admired greatly. But sometimes it felt like he wanted to carry the world on his shoulders and it wasn’t fair. For a second, she had been willing to let him go, but as the time approached, she grew more and more worried. This could go wrong and she would never forgive herself if she had simply allowed him to leave. Unconsciously, her hand traveled to his, holding it strongly.

Getting to know Isaac had made her realized how biased she had been, how blinded by rage she had been. A stupid vendetta had led her to turn her back on her friends and push away those who had no intention of harming her or her family. The boy now standing by her side was far different than she imagined, he was softer, in need of care even when he refused to show it or admit it. And Allison was drawn to that, to him, to the real him. There had been silent moments in which their eyes had met and her heart had skipped a beat. Moments in which she had been afraid because the only person she had felt that for meant something to both of them. Taking a deep breath, Allison slowly placed her hand on his arm, eyes meeting his and feeling that same funny feeling in her stomach that scared her so.

   ❛ Of course, I do. My way of seeking revenge was...it was all twisted and you didn’t deserve it.      At least say you take my apology.  ❜

Allison contained a laugh. Perhaps it wasn’t the most good-looking gingerbread house, but hers was nothing to be proud of. Decorations were not her forte and they had never been. They required patience and remaining still for copious amounts of time; Allison wasn’t known for her capacity in any of those two. Turning around, the girl lifted her little-crooked house and places it next to his, taking a step back to look at both.

How could she say no? Of all the weaknesses Allison Argent could have, the only one she wasn’t ashamed of was Scott McCall. The boy was a constant sunshine in her life, with dark eyes full of adoration and a smile that could melt the coldest heart. With a soft chuckle, Allison caressed the side of his face with her fingertips, looking at him silently for a second before nodding as she bit on her lower lip.

Eyes rolledin a very usual Argent way. As much as Harry’s words entirely made sense, therewas still a pang of jealousy within her. Of course, she would try to be Scott’sfriend in order to keep her safe but her brain wouldn’t stop playing her tricksand telling her that maybe they were getting along a little too well. Insteadof being honest, the brunette did what she did best and resorted to beingdefensive and nonchalant..

Before the incident, Allison would’ve said yes in a heartbeat. So naïve, so determined to prove her worth. That Allison was long gone, taken away with the blow of the Oni’s sword. She knew now how fragile they truly were. Lydia was a banshee, she had some powers to use, but her? She was human, flesh, and blood. Shaking her head, Allison turned her back on her friend and walked into the kitchen to serve herself a glass of water as she spoke.

Her hand softly cradled his face and she smiled. It wasn’t going to be easy, but at least they both knew it would be worth it.  Letting go of his cheeks, Allison pulled him into a hug, burying her face in the crook of his neck.
