hey everyone, marx here, and this is a callout post for @capitalism. i know a lot of you are friends with capitalism but this post had to be made. there’s a spectre of us on here that don’t agree with what capitalism has been doing, and it’s time we come forward. we could not take being exploited like this any longer, so we decided to start a revolution. europe doesnt want us to post this so we’re probably gonna get some rude anons but it’s worth it.

Hi guys. I need some help for a friend of mine. I’ve known & been close to Fish for like 12 years and he’s the sweetest guy in the world (& y'all know my cynical ass doesn’t say that lightly). He has Paranoid Schizophrenia and for a long time he had an amazing service dog named Robin. He loved that dog more than I can say, Robin was his lifeline.

Well over memorial day weekend Robin was hit by a car and sadly he is no longer with us. Fish was (& still is) devastated. As a person who relies on a service dog myself I can’t even begin to imagine what he’s going through, losing his best friend and his lifeline. He desperately needs a service dog, to help him manage and to give him a reason to get up in the morning.

If you can please help him out and/or share this post that would be wonderful. I’m worried about him the longer he goes without a service dog. I’m across the country from him and all I can do to help is share his gofundme.

So it’s been a very busy day for me here, and I’m praying that my public voice is helping other LGBTQ Muslims that may be feeling isolated, seeking help/support, in the closet, feeling unwelcome in Islam, etc, may feel less alone. Insha'Allah!

Tips for Disabled Communists

1. Don’t make the general particular or the particular the general. Current flares will pass but/and there will be certain symptoms that don’t. Things change.

2. Don’t underestimate or overestimate the role of subjective intervention. You aren’t necessarily stuck in your current state, but you also can’t magically fix everything. Balance these.

3. Communication is key. Ask of your comrades what you need; ask them to have the meeting in your bedroom, ask them to explain that idea one more time, ask them to walk slower or speak louder. It’s a revolutionary necessity to understand each other’s needs.

4. Do what you can. Don’t push yourself beyond capacity, but don’t underestimate yourself either. If you can’t show up early, show up on time. If you can’t show up on time, show up late. If you can’t stay all the way through, stay part. Better than not going at all.

5. Find ways to strengthen yourself as much as possible, physically, mentally, and socially. I’m working on direct communication, for instance, and taking steps to go directly through chat instead of vaguely through Facebook. It’s a step. Physical therapy is also a great thing. Even if you are bedbound, do what you can, even if it’s just moving your eyes or wiggling your toes.

6. Not everybody can take on every role, but there is a role for every person. There are many folks who won’t be in direct combat during people’s war, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be participating. Politics commands the people’s army. Guns don’t make people’s war; people make people’s war. Find what you can do and know it is important.

7. Be direct as much as possible when someone is excluding you or others. We are vulnerable, and we know the vulnerable, so we must use that to stand up for ourselves and others in strong compassion. People need to know when you are being ignored. It’s not just for you, it’s for the party we want to build.

8. Independence is a bourgeois myth. We are interdependent. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and be there to offer what you can (no more, no less). Be clear about that.

9. Remember this: disabled revolutionaries bring abled revolutionaries closer to a big section of the masses. We also keep our orgs extra vigilant and disciplined as we bring up our needs and force others to coalesce to help. We aren’t a burden like capitalism says we are. We are an asset that will lead to a stronger revolutionary organization, and, eventually, party.
