We knew we were onto something special earlier this year when we encountered Yungblud’s cheeky roaring debut, King Charles. We immediately considered the 19 year old talent from Yorkshire a must watch artist. Dominic Harrison has since caught the attention of even more music heads and tastemakers across the world, and just as we’d predicted, his buzz level continues to rise at breakneck speed. New song Tin Pan Boy greatly reminds me of early Arctic Monkeys (still my favorite stage of Arctic Monkeys) with its sooty snarling energy, breaking beats, and jagged guitar hooks, but mixed with the yowling vigor of The Clash and some Franz Ferdinand swagger. And like every other Yungblud song we’ve encountered, it’s wildly addicting and a whole lot of swashbuckling fun. I’m still feeling totally crestfallen for having to miss Yungblud’s San Francisco debut at Popscene a couple weeks ago (my day job partners were in town), and I’m hoping 2018 will bring me a new opportunity to experience the electrifying young talent live.
