In my opinion the key to understanding how to play Sherlock Holmes' character is to understand that his asshole energy is actually pretty low. This is a common mistake made by many great actors. His asshole energy is no higher than the common man's. What he does have is nearly LETHAL levels of bitch energy. Whichever neuron in the brain that senses when the bitch levels are too high and sends out the anti bitch hormone Holmes was born without. Like you're right Sherlock should never just be played as a nice guy but his abrasive and off-putting behaviors are due to bitch energy not asshole energy. It's a subtle difference but a vital one. Don't fight me guys I know a scientist

This is your annual reminder that BBC Sherlock's Captain John Hamish Watson as portrayed by Martin Freeman was a hoe who went out thotting in the streets of London, smiling and tryna get with bitches who were not his wife. All while his wife, a trained assassin, was at home with their infant child. Mary sacrificed everything for a life with him and he took that and decided to be a hoe. A whole hoe.

Of all the terrible things wrong with the series, I am still baffled at their decision to make him a hoe and then never addresses it. Then they murder my favorite bitch in top of that?? Disrespectful.

Sherlock & Joan share a perfect relationship…here’s the evidence!

It doesn’t take a detective to realize how much Sherlock and Joan have meant to each other over the years.

Enjoy this celebration of their companionship, friendship, and love.

Re: Paradox Series ask. Similar in characterisation. The writing style is rather distinct so I doubt there would be similar works in that regard. And Alexx has a list of If you liked the Paradox Series, containing Another Country; Observe, Control Delete; The Progress of Sherlock Holmes; Cold Song Series; Four Corners of the Western World.

Reply: I’m still having to intuit here, but I guess you’re looking for something where Sherlock is kind of not okay? In which case, I have a couple of lists that might be interesting:

I hope at least one of these gets at what you’re looking for!

Um… i’m rewatching ASIP right now and considering that i have watched only once each episode of the show ( rewatching some scenes again and again purely for my pleasure and/or vidding use not counting ), and i have some comments to make.

Comment 1: At the scene where John meets Mike he’s awfully rude and cold with his old classmate/friend. I mean… sure, he just came back from the war and he has PTSD but he… behaves like he doesn’t really like people. It’s funny, because that’s supposed to be Sherlock.

Comment 2: It might be my shipper goggles on here but at the scene where Molly is about to ask Sherlock on a date and he notices the lipstic he looks a bit alarmed. But again, it might be my shipper goggles.

Comment 3: I love the face Sherlock makes when he drinks the coffee Molly brought him and possible made herself for him. But he drinked it anyway didn’t he?

I’ll keep you updated as i continue.

Comment 4: Mrs. Hudson is the only person that season 1 Sherlock had shown any physical affection too. I can’t not love it, after all they are a bit like mother and son.

Comment 5: After Lestrade left and Sherlock was jumping around like a child he said to Mrs. Hudson that he’s going out and he might need some food. Weird i thought he wasn’t eating when he had a case because digestion slows him down. That’s what he said to Molly anyway in TBB. So either Mofftiss couldn’t decide about that, or he said a small lie to Molly to make her hurry up with showing him the bodies. Who knows?

Comment 6: John has very serious anger issues right from the start. And yet we were surprised about TLD? Ok… And once again awfully rude to Mrs. Hudson, treating her like she’s his servant. Not a just a bit not good. Truly horrible. But he’s the good guy right? Sure he is.

Comment 7: Why on earth would Sally just assume that Sherlock would follow someone at their homes? Seriously why? I really don’t get it.

Comment 8: Sherlock introduced Sally as an old friend. A bit ironically but he did. So what was their relationship before we see them on the show? Were they truly friends or maybe friendly? Were they lovers? If they were any of those things what happened that was dramatic enough for Sally to call him a freak and asking strangers if he followed them to their homes? These are questions that need asnwers people.

Comment 9: The way that Sherlock closes the door on Anderson’s face is just… iconic! Pure and simple.

As much as comment 8 is a very good one, please don’t even say that they might have been lovers, please. I don’t want to think about it!

Well i just throwing out guesses around. There are many possibilities about how their relationship was before. Them being lovers or just maybe sex buddies is as likely as anything else. But i believe i get why you don’t like to think about that being a possibility and i understand, i really do.

I don’t think I ship Sally and Sherlock but I’m kind of in love with the idea of them having a messy past involving sex.

You know it makes sense, the break up was messy. That’s why they’re cold to each other. Actually, I like the idea of Sally and Sherlock having a past together. Like Sherlock was a virgin before he met her and then they’re in a secret (secret because even Mycroft had no idea about it) ‘relationship’, they broke up, and Sherlock, being the inexperience one took it harder so he lashed out, you know, like a child he was.

Also I’ve seen gifsets about them having a history, and they’re really good, and fit to canon.

Omg AND THEN SHE WENT TO FREAKING ANDERSON

That’s why he let out full snark on him (also because I think he thought Anderson didn’t deserve Sally), and looking at Sally’s expression, she’s more exasperated when it comes to sherlock rather than hatred. After the disastrous break up, he swore on abstinence (*cough cough* until he’s with Molly together).

Well y’all may not ship it, but now *I* do.

There is HISTORY… of some kind. So I wrote it. There’s a few other fics out there too, if you search the tags.

You doggone right there’s history, ppb! (Thanks for that fic, Penny)

@soyeahso has a completed long fic called Six Underground Y’all paid it dust but it is so damn good. She’s an amazing writer. If you love a painfully accurate 90′s AU, dive right in.

Sometimes I’ll be sitting and dissociating when a thought comes to me clear as day

“John Watson is a hoe who cheated on his wife while she was home with their infant daughter...and the writers expected me to get past that because sister plot twist. Meanwhile this dude is a whole fucking hoe...like...how did everyone get past that? He’s a complete strawberry-letter-ass hoe.”
