9. Most disliked characters)? Why?
Calico Jack, hands down. I know we like to joke about Izzy being the only non muppet but to me that's CJ. He reminds us that toxic masculinity is well and truly real and Stede isn't the badass Ed thinks he is and the crew would be floundering in the real world of pirates. He's a necessary evil and I hate him for it. I also hate that I know and am friends with a lot of CJs irl and they're sadly fun to hang out with.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Izzy in a way, I think he's crotchety and irritable and so important to the plot, the show wouldn't be the same without him fr. I could do without having spent s2 with the death threats in my inbox π but beyond that, the character and his arc itself is so much fun.
27. Least shippable character?
To me- Zheng. Just didn't get enough time. i don't see her with Olu or the garlic soup, there was 0 chemistry for me.
I see her as someone hypercompetent and a person who's under so much pressure (largely self inflicted) to be the "best" at what they do and she deserves to discover softness and kindness on her own terms. She's so unlike Ed in the sense that I don't think she'll ever want to retire? She likes her job, she isn't tired of it. She could be so much more. If we'd had a s3 (and per rumors), we would have had more of her arc and her motivations.
