You should watch Wheel of Time it has:

lesbians!!!!

hot men!! hot women! hot people in general!!!

literally every character can be the ultimate blorbo. they all have issues! pick the character with the struggle you relate to the most! (mat my beloved)

just the best costumes. i usually don’t notice this but i think everyone looks cool as hell

if that wasn’t enough to convince you. it’s also genuinely a good show. the characters are interesting, the romances are complex, and it is incredibly obvious that the writers, producers, actors, and crew really care about the source material (while still changing parts so it can work better on tv and cutting the more uhhhhh… problematic stuff from the books)

The tumblr girlies need to get on this shit. They are missing out.

People complaining about the "Rand is lashed to a wheel" symbolism being heavy handed has got to be my new favorite flavor bookcloak delusion. In the books Rand is slathered in so much Messiah symbolism that the wiki has a subsection of his page dedicated to the different references. That man collects stagmata like Pokemon gym badges. He is every mythological savior archetype tossed into a blender with a healthy does of King Arthur, Baldr, and Achilles just to be safe.

The only reason Robert Jordan didn't crucify Rand "literally dies for the sins of humanity" al'Thor himself is because he probably couldn't find a spot to fit it in between him get Spear of Destiny'd and pulling the sword out of the stone. (Fun fact the ot Sword In the Stone was called Caliburn which you might note is remarkably similar sounding to Callandor. If you think that wasn't intentional I'd like to discuss some exciting bridge realty opportunities with you.)

Anyways lashing Rand literally to the symbolic representation of the enteral cycle of conflict in which all humanity is trapped, and Rand specifically is charged with preserving is dead on Jordan shit and I can't fathom anyone thinking otherwise.

Robert Jordan making a character who should be a perfect self insert power fantasy for young men (chosen one, powerful sorcerer, king, chief of the Proud Warrior Race Guys, master swordsman, had three hot girlfriends,) and just giving him severe mental illness and the worlds most miserable heroes journey was such a power move

rings of power had a budget of half a billion dollars and yet wheel of time with a FRACTION of that is out here giving us unparalleled artistry and costuming that hasn't been seen since in this entire decade of television

if they don't win an Emmy for this i'm rioting

I have been thinking about this and ... I don't know? Is Brandon Sanderson ... stupid? I saw him explain on Reddit that he he needs to talk in detail about all his problems with the TV show, because his name is attached to it, so it reflects on him. I mean, seriously, he said this on Reddit, surrounded by comments shitting on the showrunner ... It's been two years, and I think it is fairly obvious that show haters/critics have singled out Rafe Judkins as the villain responsible for everything they dislike about the show. He gets blamed for everything, even the fucking pandemic itself. And Sanderson's role in this narrative is the wronged hero, the defender of True Fandom, sadly defeated by the evil gay manhating villain, who hates the books and the fans and maliciously ignores all of Sanderson's advice because he hates him personally because he is evil! (Rafe being gay is definitely one of the things that make him such a convenient target, and I have seen a ton of homophobia, including quite nasty stuff.) It's hard to believe that Sanderson has not picked up on this at all, that he doesn't know how negative comments from him would be perceived. It's been going on for two years ... It is baffling, irresponsible, and the timing is strange because the second season has been so well received: the finale has a 9.2 rating on IMDb, there are positive articles being written, people like it. Oh no, his name is attached to something people enjoy!?

If he cannot handle his name being on a product he does not 100% control, then he should not be involved in TV production at all, because no one has total control over the outcome. I feel sorry for the writers, who haven't been able to promote the show because of the strike, and are now probably too busy catching up with work on the third season ... And here's a producer spreading negativity and admitting he has not even bothered to watch Season 2! I am sorry but if any retail worker behaved this way, they'd probably get fired. It's unprofessional, not to mention disrespectful. Yes, there is a German word for this: Kollegenschwein.

(Disclaimer: I have not watched the livestream itself. Life is too short! But it's the Reddit comment that I'm complaining about. That I have read. He actually says a lot of reasonable things, but I cannot get over the "my name is on it waaah" part. So self-centered.)

Listen, I'll always be grateful that Sanderson finished the wot books, but I simply do not care about his thoughts on the show. He butchered so many characters in those last 3 books, to an extent that certain parts are pretty much unreadable on a reread, that I don't think he gets to have an opinion on how someone else is adapting the show for a completely different medium.

But seriously, huge props to Rosamund and Daniel in the Moiraine/Lan reunion scene, because. If you take away the beautiful score and CGI effects. Absolutely nothing at all is happening.

They are just standing. In front of each other. Emoting the HELL out of it.

[img txt: #simple #i would bunt the baby and sprint for first #thus making the problem that of handling the live ball/baby the problem of the catcher and third baseman #who would then have to throw the baby to first before I got there #Then I'd steal second because what're they gonna do try to toss a baby back and forth to get me in a rundown? No fuckin way #I'd take a quick break on second before stealing third and then home #for the game's single most upsetting inside the park home run]

genuinely in love with the reveal, from the baby prodigy scenario, that Christian Baby does not refer simply to a baby baptised and born to christians, but to an infant that holds a belief in christian theology

This philosophy applies to SO MUCH.

Agents want to love your book. Hiring managers want you to be exactly the person they need. The person on the other end of that blind date is hoping beyond hope that you’re their huckleberry.

Applies to interviews too!

This definitely applies to interviews as well! I really like this! Excellent tips.

TRUTH. This totally helped lift my spirits and turn on the charm during interviews!

This was never emphasized enough during undergrad. They’re on your side! They want the process to be easy!

That is the most motivating thing that I have come across my entire life.
