Hello! I’m sorry if this message is late, I rarely check tumblr these days.

But, graphics:

for the more complex and more busy ones I normally take inspiration from other graphics. Or I follow tutorials from/on @itsphotoshop. Or I go through my photos, textures, and psds and see what I could come up with.

For texts on these type of graphic, I generally go by the rule of not using the same type of font. Like, if you have one in bold, upper case letters, use a contrasting light, lower case font. Don’t be afraid to use the warped text tool as well!

For the more simple graphics, I just slap on a bunch of psds and choose which one is my favorite.

Gifs:

you obviously want to keep it under 3mb here on tumblr. Under 50 frames is best, even lower for the 540px wide ones. Make sure your speed is right! So many times I’ve seen beautiful gifsets but they’re either too fast or slow. I like to save the gif and check the speed out of photoshop and adjust if needed. Generally 0.7-0.8 is what I end up with. I rarely ever limit the frames. I cool tip I learned from @demberly is to randomly choose a scene by clicking on the progress bar!
