I draw, write, travel, collect odd objects and obsess with absurd science fiction. Hang out with kittens and gorgeously dressed people & draw them. My fashion diary 'Daily Misfits', showcasing unique, versatile, non-conforming queer fashion from myself...

Ahhhh your art is lovely, you really inspire me to improve myself. Thank you for your wonderful work, they're such great snippets of insight and I look forward to seeing many more from you! ;v;

Thank you so much...I'm so glad to hear! I don't post my comic here on tumblr very much, but please stay in touch, and you can see more via Twitter or Instagram! :) thanks again, good luck with everything!

I just saw your "Thank You / Sorry" comic, and I'm close to tears. It spoke to me so closely, and I'll start making an effort to follow that advice. It'll be a great improvement on my life, I can feel it. Thank you so much. Only thing is, I was looking forward to reblogging it, since I have friends that I feel could really use those words as well. But I'm not finding the comic anywhere on your page. Do you have a permalink or something? I'd hate to just repost it without your consent. Thank you.

Please do repost the link from autostraddle!:) you have my permission. I don't use tumblr as often-- and I trust folks to tag my name when they post stuff. I'm really glad the comic spoke to you this way. Thank you for getting in touch!

Reading your comics sometimes it feels like you are reflecting on a loss. If that is true, I am sorry for that loss.

Thank you! It is a loss of some kind, not a death type of loss, but did come from a place of mourning.

Is your name ้€้ฅ or something with the same pronunciation? Because that's really awesome (;

Yes;) it's actually ่‚–็‘ถ but it's supposed to sound cool :p

2/2 I don't know how else to express it, but I'm very thankful that you created that comic. It meant a lot to me, so much that i don't even know how to type out. I find myself constantly wanting to type "I'm sorry for babbling now and not making any sense", but, that just really goes against what the comic was about right? Lol. So I just want to say thank you. Thank you for those comforting words. Thank you for making the series. Thank you for giving me just a boost in my life right now.

Thank you so much for this kind message. I know exactly what you mean--making a comic where I can express it doesn't mean I do it completely well myself. I really wanted to articulate those words, and it came from a warm place where very kind people in my life had made me feel less like a gradually disappearing ghost. Im glad this comic has helped you, and it helped me, too. I hope you'll come back to read more of the series!

When I visited China, a lot of people pointed at me cause I'm white and I was wearing a Yao Ming jersey, but I was also small at the time because I was only 8. So they called me Xiao Yao

Aww, I hope it was fun! People called me Xiao Yao too but 70% bc it's my actual name (means 'free wandering spirit') 30% bc it's 'little Yao' :)

Talking about illustration, cartooning and art school in one of the most futuristic buildings in Beijing! My one-day lecture/workshop in Beijing was so much fun, I met many talented students and got to share my experiences over the years. Many students flew in from other cities, by which I was equally surprised and flattered. Huge thanks to everyone who came! Learned that my lecture is considered 'Dry Goods' which meant 'raw concrete information' and that I have a very gentle voice when I speak in Chinese, I spoke about being an art student in a foreign country, preparing a portfolio for school and for clients, surfacing inspiration in a 'creative block', how to communicate story and deep emotion through illustration and how to be a better communicator while talking to a client. Big thanks to the wonderful and talented Kirk Liu from PSOne Art Education and for having me in their beautiful space in Galaxy SOHO in the heart of Beijing. Hope to do more workshops like this!

Sign of life-- I have arrived in China but it's totally wall-up for most things Internet here, except iMessage,WeChat...and tumblr. Here's my mandatory food picture. โœŒ๏ธ

Found your blog by happenstance and just wanted to say I *adore* your work, especially the ink(+pen) paintings. I haven't picked up my inks in months and your art inspired me to change that. Have a lovely day. :)

Thank you so much ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
