Falling in love with Jameson was too quick, too easy. He has expected that the first time he fell in love in would be a gradual realisation.
Nothing about his relationship with Jameson has been slow or careful. They were two meteors that were destined to crash. Gravity had pulled them together and there was no point fighting it.
It wasn’t during a searing kiss. Though the first kiss they shared, however sweet it was, had set Clary’s world alight.
It wasn’t during their first time making love. His heart had beat heavily in his chest, echoing off shower walls and muffled by lips and tongues, pressed against the wet slope of Jameson’s throat.
It wasn’t during that first dance. They had circled each other, stumbling over feet and completely oblivious to the dulcet sounds of Elvis in the background.
Clary had always expected it to be dramatic, an all amazing moment that would change his life. Perhaps he had listened to too many of his mothers stories or the ridiculous poems she read.
It was an all amazing moment but it was simple and sweet. Jameson discovered his Disney collection and his face lit up like it was Christmas. All it took was that one joyful look and one smile in his direction and Clary fell for him.
