Starfleet: we’re glad you’re home. We’ve been reviewing your records.

Janeway: ‘k when is my promotion?

Starfleet: what makes you think you’re getting a promotion?

Janeway: my future self told me all about it when she broke the Temporal Prime Directive and brought me stolen future technology.

Starfleet: yeah, so in that vein there, are some things we need to discuss.

Janeway: if there’s a problem with the paperwork blame Chakotay. I don’t do forms, I do holographic Irish bartenders and former Borg drones.

Starfleet:

Doctor: i can assure you that while in the delta quadrant we conducted ourselves with grace and dignity according to the highest principles of Starfleet.

B'Elanna: yeah step off our balls, you weren’t there you don’t know.

Tom: yeah, you weren’t there that time we stole a keg of omega molecules from some douchebag aliens who were going to blow up the quadrant.

Harry: or that time we played space NASCAR and ended up in the center of a terrorist plot.

Tom: or that time we were all super horny and built a fake Irish city so that we could get drunk and laid.

Harry: or when we tied that guy to a chair and waited for the aliens to eat him because he wouldn’t tell us what we wanted to know.

Tom: oh shit, remember that time i got 30 days for ignoring the wishes of some foreign government and destroying their mining operation?

Harry: that was almost as crazy as the time you restored that old shuttle but then it fell in love with you and tried to kill B’Elanna.

B’Elanna: speaking of which, remember when that bomb I made for the Maquis came back and tried to kill us.

Chakotay: that reminds me of when Seska stole my DNA and tried to impregnate herself with my child.

Tom: nothing will ever compare to the time me and the captain had kids and left them on that planet.

Janeway: we were young and innocent then.

Tom: how many lizard years to a human year? I feel like I should send a birthday card

Janeway: like 6.

Tom: you don’t even know you’re just saying that.

Janeway: you should talk, you’re such an absent father.

Tom: oh no you didn’t.

Janeway: I didn’t even want kids.

Starfleet:

Starfleet: is there a reason you stenciled PARTY BUS on the side of voyager?

Tom:

Harry:

B’Elanna:

Doctor:

Janeway: is there a reason i shouldn’t have?

Alien: You’re telling me that in times of great distress humans have been known to suddenly gain the strength necessary to lift objects more than a dozen times their own weight?!

Human: Yeah, it’s called “hysterical strength” and it usually happens in life-or-death situations, like when someone gets stuck under a car or something and someone lifts the car to get them out. We can’t really test it though, ‘cause it only happens spontaneously.

Alien: Humans have the ability to tap into untold strength and power and you don’t even know how you do it?

Human: Pretty much, yeah. We think it has something to do with temporary analgesia, so we just don’t feel the pain we should when we pick up a 3000-pound car.

Alien: YOUR PAIN RESPONSE JUST SHUTS OFF?

Human: Yeah, it’s like an adrenaline thing? Do you not have that?

Alien: Fuck you and your entire species of tiny juggernauts.

Did this post just use a dialogue format to trick me into learning science

SCIENCE!

Just so you guys know. Hysterical strength is basically your body not holding back and going %100 though there is a great danger of you hurting yourself or breaking something since your ignoring pain and going %100. There was a case where a kid deadlifted a car to save a sibling but, cracked 8 of his teeth during it because he was clenching his jaw so hard. So whilst you can lift a car or fight off polar bears. Your probably going to break something. Because most of the time when we are “giving our all” we are only giving a fraction of what we could give and this is because if we truly give our all we can seriously injure ourselves.

This is literally an explanation of Deku and his abilities with One For All.

Humans naturally hold back because our muscles have enough strength to rip themselves apart

STOP GIVING THE ALIENS REASONS NOT TO VISIT.

@celestial-naiad the whole one million percent smash was actually hysterical strength, according to horikoshi.

on an unrelated note, did you know that if all the muscles in your back clenched at once your spine would shatter? have fun!!

Thats a horrifying and empowering thought at the same time.

Also: when you are sufficiently electrocuted and “thrown back” what is actually happening is your muscles contracting so hard and fast you essentially fling yourself away from the dangerous thing.

This is the same stuff that stops you from biting off your own fingers and whatnot. Our brains just say ‘no, don’t,’ whenever we try to do some dumbass shit, until we reach the point where it’s either do the dumbass shit or die/watch someone else die. I think it’s really cool though that we can shut off this function for others than ourselves. It shows a lot how we truly are social creatures at our core, that we don’t just do this when it’s our own body that might die, but for others in our community as well.

This is why a zombie would be extremely terrifying for a short period, and then neutralize itself. No fear and no pain means it could rip apart the gates to your fortress with its bare hands, but it would tear its arms or break its back in the process and never do anything very dangerous again.

This also means that anybody with a magical super-healing power would essentially get super strength out of the mix for free if they could get past the psychological limitations. That’s probably what makes vampires so strong; they don’t actually put out any more force than a normal human but they repair any damage they take in the process almost instantly.

@krunchy-tuna why would you hide this hilarious comment in the tags

Aight I know I’m OP but I gotta reblog for appreciation of that comment

hey since i just blocked a pewdiepie fan, here’s your irregular reminder: i hate pewdiepie and if you like him/excuse his racism and antisemitism, then i don’t want you anywhere near me

and dont forget his constant mockery of autistic people!

Got called a fascist for saying PewDiePie is a fascist. Don’t really know how that works, but I don’t think that he knew the meaning of the word

OK I saw this the other day and it’s still making my brain itch. There’s arguments he could be racist, there’s arguments he could be antisemitic. Like, I get that. Can you tell me what makes him a fascist?

He called a black guy he was streaming with a n****r, hard “er” too, he’s been consistently sexist/racist/homophobic for years, and if I remember correctly, he got kicked off of a Disney contract for being too anti-Semitic (and that’s coming from Disney, of all places). He also consistently has mocked spectrum things like Autism, as written above.

OK so you’ve listed him being racist, homophobic and sexist. Can you give me an example of him being a fascist?

I’m not sure what you’re expecting here, honestly. It’s not like anyone says outright that they’re a fascist. But to not link his constant racism, sexism and homophobia (not to mention people he follows on twitter who are white supremacists) with fascism is ridiculous.

If you really want an example of him being a fascist, the biggest one I can list is the way that he treats bad news about himself. Specifically in the fiverr situation. He took all the blame off of himself, and put it on WSJ for being “fake news” something that his fanbase reiterates a lot. He also labels news sources like CNN “fake news”, comparing it to “autistic screeching” (mocking autistic people). These are extremely fascist things to do. To manipulate a large base of followers to only see the good things about you, and shake off the bad things as “fake news” because it paints you in a bad light.

It’s not ridiculous though, I think the issue is you see homophobia, racism and sexism as symptoms of fascism, but that doesn’t mean everyone who you can link to those remarks is a fascist. All snickers are candy bars, not all candy bars are snickers, you know?

Let’s say I play devils advocate to every piece of evidence against him. Let’s say he used to N word in his stream because of racist tendancies, let’s say he used antisemetic jokes not for the shock value, but because he has antisemetic tendancies, and let’s also say him defending himself by attacking the WSJ was his attempt at discrediting the media for the sake of it instead of defending himself. All of these things together still aren’t really fascism. it’s pretty asshole-ish behaviour, sure, but it’s definitely not far-right ultranationalism.

If we overuse these words, or use them in incorrect contexts, they lose their meaning. Hell, in the 1940′s George Orwell wrote “The word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless...almost any English person would accept ‘bully’ as a synonym for ‘fascist’”

Your biggest example of fascism is him arguing with the WSJ for example, silencing or discrediting the media is a tool of fascism, this is true. But at that time there were an absolute ton of bullshit articles coming out, including a few that took him sarcastically saying YouTube was trying to kill his channel because he was white, and then running it as actual headlines. I’m pretty sure his complaints with the WSJ were to do with them intentionally taking some of his clips out of context, to make his already bad statements appear far worse. Again, attempting to silence the media is certainly something that fascism would do, but arguing against an article about you you disagree with isn’t really the same.

I hope I’m making clear that, I’m not trying to defend his actions or condemn them, my argument isn’t about what he’s done or his thoughts behind it, it’s strictly with the label of fascist. I know a lot of what I said makes it sound like I’m an apologist for his actions, but that’s only because I’m trying to point out how they aren’t fascist, I am in no way condoning them. You want to call the US’s current policy of throwing immigrants into cells, discrediting the media to the point you try to ban them from coming to the White House to report on you, rallying your supporters and declaring the media the “enemies of the people” and instigating a “muslim ban”, I can then understand the use of the label of fascism. I hope I’ve done a better job of explaining my viewpoint.

And this is tiktok we need

WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I NEEDED IT?????

Step 1: Make a new bookmark on your bookmark bar Step 2: Set the URL for it to: javascript:(function(){document.querySelectorAll(POTATOdivPOTATO).forEach(function(element){if(getComputedStyle(element)[BUTTz-indexBUTT]>1000){element.remove();}});document.documentElement.style.overflowY=BUTTautoBUTT;document.body.style.overflowY=BUTTautoBUTT;document.documentElement.style.height=BUTTautoBUTT;document.body.style.height=BUTTautoBUTT;})(); but replace POTATO with double quotes, and BUTT with single quotes (blame Tumblr for hating code) Step 3: Umm. I didn’t think this far ahead, either way this should clear out a lot of ad-block-blockers/restricted content popups, just click the bookmark when you hit one.

honestly a good partner isn’t necessarily someone who loves the exact same things you love but rather someone who is willing to listen to you ramble on and on about a particular subject that you’re passionate about even if they have little to no interest in it

this is so important

All I can think of is this…

And on the flip-side

FREAKING BE LIKE THIS FOR YOUR PARTNERS!!!

DO THIS!!

Math proves that capitalism sucks and that capitalists are greedy.

So he gave millions and you gave $40 and feel like you’re doing more?

The same people who didn’t understand this concept are the ones reblogged that post that stays “I gave you two dollars and he gave you twenty, but what you didn’t know was that he had 100 and I had only two.”

Where's the maths for this? Because it sounds more like its based on his net worth rather than actual cash-in-hand, and most of that is in Amazon stock which will not only fluctuate but he'd be a fool to sell as he'd lose stake in his own company.

Not saying he can't do more, but the maths on this are awfully misleading.

A better, more positive Tumblr

Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.

Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).

Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.

So what is changing?

Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.

Why are we doing this?

It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.

So what’s next?

Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.

Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.

Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.

Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

Jeff D’Onofrio CEO

This is my favourite reaction to this absolute shitstorm 😂 whether you're into that side of Tumblr or not, you'd be an idiot to believe it's not a big part of it. Tumblr is basically kicking it's long-term user base in the balls, and then telling them they can't post the evidence 😂 This is like if Instagram blocked pictures of food haha
