I don’t know who edited the video, but I don’t know what you’re trying to do to me. Thank you so much to BMI for giving me the Taylor Swift award. I’m really super relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift award ‘cause if they had chosen somebody else to give the Taylor Swift award to I’d be kind of bummed about it. This night has been unbelievable. I first wanted to say to Cynthia Weil and to Barry Mann, to Carole King.. You are the reason we do what we do. Any of us in this room can only dream of accomplishing what you guys have accomplished. I recently had a lot of time off. I’ve been watching a lot of reality TV. And Barry and Cynthia’s daughter Jenn is the couples’ therapist on a show called Couples Therapy that I watch a lot, so I was really, really excited to meet her. Family goals over here in this section. Talk about it. When all the song awards were being given out, I noticed that a lot of the songs that were awarded tonight, I actually got to sing with the artists on the 1989 World Tour because either the artist was generous enough to come out for free and play their song on my stage was something that made this tour special and different for me. Because we live in an age where everybody has the ability to see your show online before they come if you want to but if you surprise them with a special guest then they actually get to feel that very unique in 2016 feeling to be surprised by something. So I would like to go through the list. Just ignore the cat stickers on my phone if you will. The list of songs that I got to perform with the artist on my tour.. I think this is a testament to the writers. What you created, every single person in those stadiums knew every word to your songs so I want to thank you for letting us do it and also to shout you out. Cheerleader, I got to sing that one, Fight Song, Want To Want Me, Jealous… I know this wasn’t a song but Imagine Dragons is here, we sang Radioactive… Fall Out Boy came out on the last tour, still counts! Thanks guys. See You Again, great moment… Honey I’m Good and Good For You. And all the rest of you guys, we’ll get to you next tour. This is an amazing room full of people that I love and have loved for a really long time. My whole family is sitting right there; my brother Austin, my mom, my dad, who’s filming on his phone. And to my entire management team; 13 Management, Sony ATV. Sony ATV signed when I was 14 just like BMI. Some other people who I just generally love, on Fearless I worked with Colbie Caillat. On my album Red I worked with Gary Lightbody. On my album Red I worked with Jeff Baxter who you seen. And if I forgot you, it’s because I didn’t run into you and I’m really sorry about that. And this is just an unbelievable night. Thank you for awarding the favorite part of my life. Of all the adventures this career path has brought, my favorite part is when I’m in the middle of a conversation with my friends and my eyes glaze over and I awkwardly run into a corner and start going like… And then I have to explain them that I have this issue called ‘I love songwriting so much that it interrupts my daily life’ and I know you all have it too. Congratulations on your evening. I’m so happy to be among you and I love you. Thank you so much.
