I just read this book:

Hmm. Four out of 5 stars, I suppose. I think I wanted more pathos. The romance was just fine.

When it comes to Bardugo I never read Shadow and Bone, really hated her Six of Crows series, and I really liked her Ninth House series. I was sad to hear she's going to cap Ninth House at 3 books, as it had a good foundation for being a solid recurring series, but oh well.

This is a standalone, and frankly it is nice to get more of those!

“Our ruling classes have always procured that workers do not have a history, no doctrine, no heroes nor martyrs. Each struggle must begin anew, separated from the previous struggles. Collective experience is lost, lessons are forgotten. This way, history appears as private property whose owners are the owners of all things. This time the circle could be broken…”

Rodolfo Walsh, “El Cordobazo”

He was an argentinian writer and journalist, known for his Open Letter From A Writer to The Military Junta, published a day before his murder at the hands of military soldiers.
