okay so I can finally say this: I watched the Book of Mormon at the nearest performance art center and it was amazing and the fucking story I have before we got there my family had literally just gotten onto the main highway up to the center when we came to a full stop because of a disastrous car accident. We sat there for almost dirty minutes and we were almost sure we wouldn't make it and I almost had a complete come apart because 2016 had been shitty enough so why the fuck could we not see this performance? but we finally started to move and we made it in time AND had ten minutes to spare before it even started. We seriously thought that we'd miss a good chunk of the first act. So with this all I can say is if you're tired of this years shit, fuel yourself with spite and tears and take no shit and never let anything stop you from seeing a musical
Praise God
In case you don’t read it: basically it’s a lot of money given annually to planned parenthood that cannot be touched to keep the facilities open. It clearly states that this money is for things like access to contraceptives and cancer screenings and other care that planned parenthood offers that’s not specifically abortions.
So republicans won’t even be able to vote for defunding planned parenthood. Essentially.
This happened awhile ago and thank god 🙏🏻 you will never be forgotten Obama
George Takei getting me thru this election
reminder that george takei’s family survived an honest-to-god internment camp set up by the us government because of their race. if he says we can survive whatever a trump presidency throws at us, i believe him.
He’s also a gay man who made it through the AIDS crisis under Reagan. The man knows what he’s talking about.
here’s my other gentle rant of the night
if you didn’t vote
because you couldn’t, because you were too young, because you’ve got some charge on your record and they wouldn’t let you, because you managed to miss the deadline, because you have limited mobility or transportation and couldn’t make it somewhere, because you live with people who violated your rights by stopping you, because your anxiety got the better of you and you couldn’t figure out how to do it or couldn’t even look at the form, because you just plain didn’t have the spoons to, because voter suppression or ID laws caused you to get turned away
whatever the reason
(unless that reason is that you willfully chose not to because you either believed it didn’t matter or you thought it would be the best mode of protest)
if things go to shit, it’s not your fault, okay? Please don’t blame yourselves.
I needed this, thank you. I couldn’t vote Absentee this year because of requirements I couldn’t fulfill because I spend most of my time in school in another state.
You’re welcome. You have all my hugs and sympathy. College an residency rules associated with it are especially nasty culprits at making voting hard for young people. I also know a few people whose parents “did them the favor” of filling in their absentee ballots for them.
We moved states dangerously close to the cutoffs. I registered in time; he didn’t. We’re not sure if his vote that he filled in absentee for our old state will count.
Things happen. No one’s perfect.
We can’t stand up and move forward if our feet are busy kicking ourselves.
Postive words, from postive YouTubers
Things you should consider doing before Trump becomes president
-Get any doctor’s appointment taken care of if you have Obamacare -Take advantage of any student loan forgiveness if you can -Get an IUD if you need birth control -Legally change your name if you’re trans -Get a passport -Save up your money
We have little under two months until the presidency changes over. Take advantage of your rights while you have them. Please feel free to add onto this post, these are the only things I can think of right now.
To all of my fellow autistic people in America:
Please, stay strong and safe.
Even if you hate the candidate that won, you still have to respect your president.
too many people showed disrespect to President Obama so why should we start 'giving respect even if they aren't who we wanted' to an actual cheeto colored limp dick
Reminder that popular vote does not decide the president. Electoral vote does. Donald Trump is not president yet.
The Electors meet on December 19th. Their votes are counted January 6th. They have voted against the will of the people before and it’s highly possible they could do again. The fat lady hasn’t sung yet. Hilary still has a snowball chance.
We will not truly know until January 6th. The only thing we can do now is hope for a miracle, but there is that hope. (Especially given that there’s also a chance that Trump will be in prison by that time and would be disqualified regardless.)
positive things…
summary of my Halloween: it was hot and a yard (pictured above) was covered in Trump signs and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a joke decoration
okay like I had no idea that a Hookfang build a bear had come out? Like good thing I said I wanted to walk around the mall after having my birthday dinner. (also there were two people closing and were so nice to do the bear for me and they were both like cute ((like cute gay crush way)) and I talked to the one who stuffed it a lot about the dragons. that is how you swoon me just talk with me about dragons)
I turn 20 tomorrow can anyone give me advice
i think a more interesting question than “when did you ‘join’ the internet” is “what was the first username you ever used”
my very first ever username (that i remember) was HunterKiller75 cause i thought starcraft was the coolest shit in elementary school & hydralisks were my fav unit, and 75 was my fav number
so it's been a nice past couple of days, me the bride and the other bridesmaids got mehndi done yesterday and we're in our hotel right now, the parlor suite is on the 23rd floor!!!
