When I tell people I ride horses they’re like “aww do you like horses?”
¿No? Not at all. I hate them. All of them. They’re all assholes.
One thing people might forget when it comes to sedating a horse for shows is this:
Giving the horse sedatives does not make the horse calm as in no longer afraid and relaxed, it makes the horse calm as is senses are so dulled they can’t move and react as quickly as when they are alert and “sober”. It’s not anti anxiety meds you are giving them.
On the inside, they are JUST as terrified and stressed as before you drugged them, they just happened to be locked into a body that can’t run.
Still want to sedate your show horse so you can win?

Michael Jung completed his course on HALUNKE with only a 0.4 point time penalty. The pair is still leading the competition ahead of the stadium jumping phase.

Belladonna 10-15-15 Bridleless polework
hoo000wwww????
like not even impressed that she’s bridleless, i’m impressed because my horse would have fallen flat on his stupid face if i asked him to trot that
It’s honestly amazing how many people in this sport are in it for themselves and not in it for the horse. It’s easy to tell who cares more about the sport than the animal itself based on what they try to justify as okay or the lengths they to go remain blind to other things

If you “like hot horses” because they give you “an extra oomph” but then have to drug them to “safely” show...
You don’t like hot horses and aren’t qualified to ride them.
Oliveira Lux Bridle
This handmade ‘classical’ double bridle is a replica of the Late Nuno Oliveira’s rolled leather bridle with extra modern features. The original was designed and made by Jose’s father. It is entirely handmade in the finest super soft leather.
Absolutely love this color.
I normally don’t like cognac but holy fuck this is amazing
Disregard the front end of both horses, and just pay attention to their hind end. Totilas (left) has the extended trot of a training level horse from the hind end in my opinion, people just get distracted from this because of his flashy front end. It’s not a proper trot, he’s not engaged at all. Uthopia (right) has a similar flashy step when it comes to the front end, but the difference is that the hind end matches in terms of engagement. His back is a bit more hollow than I would like, but even so it’s not even comparable to the hollowness of Totilas. If you look at the legs only, there’s a massive difference between him and Totilas.
Stop putting Totilas on a pedestal he doesn’t fit on. He was trained abusively and pushed beyond his physical limits to his breaking point. That horse was mistreated, and his trainers cheated their way to the top at his expense.
look at this
