Nietzsche was the only Nietzsche, wasn't he? Would it be foolish of me if I said my own isolation makes me feel a strong connection to his words? I probably am wrong, but I have the sense Nietzsche found interacting with others tiresome? So complex and out of this world he was, his remarkable mind came at the cost of a pleasurable social experience?

He found it exhausting, but that’s because he was convinced he was destined to remain as alone in his head as possible b/c that was the only way (according to him) he could fulfill his purpose in life from the start (in order to simply be who he was, in order to complete his life’s work). But that’s not to say he did not found himself connected to other beings…in fact his friendships were most important to him & he was deeply affected by the selected few who had access to his soul throughout his life. He was one of these profoundly lonely people and yet one could never pity him because of his loneliness b/c overall it was a choice based on self-awareness and deep self-reflection. And no it’s not foolish of you to relate but yeah he was kind of the only Nietzsche…
