Word Count: 1000+
Summary: Suppose during 'Thor Ragnarok' Loki didn't "fall for thirty minutes". Instead having a change meeting with a sorcerer's apprentice.
AN: This is just a little something I whipped up while on a split at work. I might use it as an opening to a more lengthy and interesting new fic. We will have to see! Enjoy my loves! xoxo
“And what exactly are we supposed to do with the brothers? Why do we have to bring them here in the first place?” You ask, trailing behind Dr. Stephen Strange as he took long, determined strides down the hallway, his red cape flowing briskly behind him.
“You know why (Y/N). I have taken it upon myself to keep tabs on any and all life that enters earth's realm that may cause us some-troubles. Thor and Loki touching down here will never bring good things. We must make sure that whatever they're here for, they get it quickly and leave just as fast.” The doctor explains as he reaches his sitting area, his most prized treasures standing motionless in their glass cases.
“I understand. And how do you suppose we do that? We would need a spell of some sort to get them here.” You say, running your fingers along the spines of the many books on the shelf. “We shouldn't be too obvious though. We can't just extend an invitation to come here, who's to say they'll accept. If anything they would be extremely skeptical as to who you were and how we knew they had come to earth.”
“Well what do you suggest (Y/N)? You've been studying under me for long enough. What is your proposal.”
“Start with one brother perhaps?” You say, your eyes scanning the room to the small index card with the doctor’s address on it. You go over to the small end table and pick it up. “ We can leave this behind. Thor isn't a stupid man, he'd know to come here.”
Doctor Strange squints his eyes and takes the card from your fingers.
“I think you might be onto something…For Loki however, we may need a distraction.

You sat in your chair in your spacious room, the fireplace letting off a warm glow, but no heat as you simply liked the ambiance of it at this time of year. Being a sorcerer's apprentice did have it's perks. You just turned the page in your novel when you hear a loud thud a few feet in front of you. Your eyes look over the pages and you see the tall slender body of the god of mischief himself on your floor.
“Ah, Loki. I'm glad you could drop in.” You say, a smile playing on the ends of your lips as you set your book down. The man jerks his head up from the floor and glares at you coldly. “Sorry, bad joke.”
“Who do you think you are!?” The god hisses as he stands up and goes for his concealed weapon, drawing nothing from his jacket, much to his own surprise.
“I’m (Y/N). Sorcerers apprentice to Doctor Stephen Strange. He's the keeper of this house. Sorry for the weapons, you'll get them back when you leave. Just don't want you cutting me to ribbons before I get a chance to graduate.” You wink. Standing up, you stroll to the table in the corner of your room and pour yourself a drink.” Can I offer you anything? This scotch isn't half bad.”
“No…What kind of a wizard are you, just zapping me here of your own accord.” Loki asks, keeping his distance from you.
“I told you,I work for Doctor Strange. We don't mean you any harm. We just take it upon ourselves to make sure any new beings that come into our realm mean us no harm. I don't think I have to show you some flashbacks of New York for you understand why we would be hesitant.”
“Where is my brother?” He asks, his jaw clenching at your strangely cool demeanor.
“He is with Strange at the moment, more than likely giving him the same explanation I just gave you. Like I said,we mean you no harm. Just want to see you on your way quick as possible. I assume you're looking for your father?”
“How did you know that?”
“Well I was just waiting til someone would see through your little charade. Pretending to be Odin, taking over the throne, impressive.”
“You're a cunning little thing I’ll give you that..” Loki says, walking a little bit closer to where you stood. You stand your ground and take a sip of your scotch.
“Not just a pretty face. I have friends in all corners of the cosmos. I do admire your wit, you may be a trickster, but you are intelligent. More so than most.” You quip, walking around the table to lean against it. Loki comes even closer to you, almost toe to toe.
“Funny. You know lot about me,and I know next to nothing about you.” The man inquired, raising an eyebrow to you. You smirk and rest your glass back down, crossing your legs and leaning your weight back against the table.
“Well, maybe we’ll have to change that. I may have a small proposition for you Loki Laufeyson.”
Just as the words leave your lips you hear a chime, if it was in your head or aloud you weren't sure. But you knew what it meant. You pout and almost shimmy out of Loki’s space.
“Oh, that's a shame. Looks like our little meeting is over, I do hope to see you soon Loki. Perhaps on a more, personal level.”
“ What do you me-” Suddenly, the orange sparks begin to circle around his feet, like they had just before he dropped into your study. His eyes shoot up to look at yours and the muscles in his jaw clenches and you see his arms under his suit jacket shift. “ Don't you da-”
That is the last thing you hear before his body drops through the portal and to the foot of Doctor Strangest stairs, his landing so loud you could hear it all the way down the hall.
With the closing of the void, you pour yourself another double, knowing full well this wasn't the last meeting with the God of Mischief.
