This is a really beautiful thing for me, to see how much love and care we’ve given to our tiny little crack ship. I love Maria and Agatha and the world we’ve created for them, and I’ve created a real and true friendship in my real world too.

But then Phil Fucking Coulson appears in her office with “Come on Mar!” before hitting on “the Good Old Days!” and finally landing on “You’re not getting lazy behind that desk are you?” And now she’s in a shack in the middle of nowhere.

When he had decided to take this mission (and convinced Maria to come with him), he'd somehow managed to forget how terrible SHIELD safehouses could be (this in spite of his favorite agent's constant complaints about said safehouses).

"It could be worse, at least neither of us are seriously injured."

Maria whirled around to face him. “I do not have a crush on Romanoff.”

Maria grinned. “I’m not gonna tell you how to feel about it.” She said coyly.

She laughed at that. “I’ll just come to my own conclusions,” she teased right back.

She laughed as well, glad they’re on the phone so Natasha couldn’t see how red her entire face had gone.

Within just a few rings, Natasha picked up.

“Miss me already?” she teased, having just left Maria’s apartment hours ago.

“You wish.” Maria smirked, playing with her hair. “But at least one person in this apartment does.”
