AH, 20-something lesbian Norwegian, she/her/hers. Perpetually confused radical Christian nerd with a weird brain. I spend my days trying to teach preteens to be nice to each other and also understand how numbers work.

Hey if you didn’t know, the love language shit is evangelical Christian pseudoscience developed by a southern Baptist preacher for religious white heterosexuals who occupy rigid gender roles with everything that entails and you should put absolutely no stock in it whatsoever.

And, since I'm seeing fics where therapists are slinging this garbage, I feel honor bound to tell you if you are seeing a therapist and they are pushing this at you, you need a new therapist and you need to verify their credentials.

Hey real quick, I wanna check out something. I've been talking to a few friends who live in a different country and they told me it's normal for houses to have bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms over there. (Not saying where.)

[Definition in case it's needed: an en-suite bathroom is a complete bathroom, with at least a toilet, a sink, and a shower, which is accessed directly from a bedroom and is usually only used by the people who sleep in that bedroom.]

So here's my question: in your country, in normal dwellings (i.e.: houses, flats, apartments, etc, not hotels and such), is it normal to have en-suite bathrooms?

As usual, reblog for reach, and tag with your country / area and yes or no.

Reading a book about slavery in the middle-ages, and as the author sorts through different source materials from different eras, I am starting to understand why so many completely fantastical accounts of "faraway lands" went without as much as a shrug. The world is such a weird place that you can either refuse to believe any of it or just go "yeah that might as well happen" and carry on with your day.

There was this 10th century arab traveller who wrote into an account that the fine trade furs come from a land where the night only lasts one hour in the summer and the sun doesn't rise at all in the winter, people use dogs to travel, and where children have white hair. I don't think I'd believe something like that either if I didn't live here.

After seeing a question on Reddit about Germans and foldable rulers, I need to know how everyone feels about them.

The ask implied, that foldable rulers are not super common to use or own outside of Germany, and now I am wondering about exact demographics and why. Pls spread and add your country in the tags if you want. I can not imagine owning a tool box without one of these. And no, I am not talking about measuring tape, I specifically mean these foldable rulers. They also exist with cm + inch measurements.
