A Flair for the Dramatic

Young Justice, Avatar the Last Airbender, Steven Universe, Jane the Virgin, and Big Brother to name a few of my favorite things. I also love dogs.

Rob said that there’s no one on the production team at Big Brother that cares about the show the way Jeff Probst cares about Survivor and that’s why Survivor is always trying to make the best season possible where as Big Brother is just trying to fill the airtime…… YUP

Oh by the way when two people follow each other on Tumblr that's called being mutuals. You can simply silently like and reblog from each other, comment on each other's posts, tag each other in stuff you think the other will like, or, if you're brave, you can even DM each other. Regardless of how you choose to handle them, mutuals are a very special relationship that should be treasured <3

Protection of property and prevention of theft have never been a priority for police. Even when they do show up hours after you've called to report a robbery, their response is generally, "well, what do you want me to do about it?"

People talk about defunding the police like society will suddenly devolve into lawless chaos, but what exactly do cops do besides hand out tickets and escalate situations they're meant to defuse?

Reading this a day after my car got stolen from the parking lot of the elementary school I work at. Found my vehicle because I keep an apple tracker inside and it was on a side street in front of an apartment. when the police showed up to the scene and told me Kia souls, my model, are the easiest cars to break into we were shocked and we saw that there was another kia, exact same make, model and color right behind mine with the same damage of entering the thieves caused mine. We said “oh then that one was probably stolen too, you should run the plates to check”. They said yeah we could :) and then proceeded not to do anything?? What???

Project: Becoming Her, Ultimate Self-Improvement Guide to the Disciple of Christ.

On my blog I've touched upon my spirituality in the past, my ups and downs as it pertains to my faith walk, my experience with religious trauma, and how my relationship and knowledge of God have changed through time.

At times I allowed the religiosity of people around me to cloud my judgement and become judgemental like them, other times pushing me away from my faith, not realizing that people can only speak for themselves and it's their actions and not their words that show if they are truly disciples of Christ and the teachings of the Bible, or not.

In this new phase of my life, God has revealed and shown so many things to me, and I want to take you all on this journey of self-discovery and realization. I want to open a space in my blog to discuss faith and spirituality through a Biblical lens, but not through a religious archaic way. I want to be able to grow in my relationship with God alongside those of you who also want to follow a similar path (my intention would never be to push my beliefs onto anybody else, disagreement is understandable and I'm ok with that).

I want to apply that Biblical wisdom that through centuries has shaped the lives of important figures to improve my life, get closer to God, and bring some light to whoever may be experiencing moments of darkness. That is what this project will be all about.

In a world of information overload, confusion, and materialism, I hope I can show people that there is more to life. To get closer to God you do not need to adhere to a dogmatic and rigid religious way, but through discipline in all areas of your life: spiritual, mental, physical, intellectual, etc. You can master yourself into becoming the absolute best version you can be, and a true example of what a disciple of Christ in the modern age looks like.

My posts will from now on be based on Biblical teachings and how to best apply this knowledge to our lives to better improve ourselves, understand the nature of God, and not allow those around us to taint our self-perception and drag us down the wrong path because we aren't receiving the right information.

As cliché as it may sound, being a disciple of Christ is not about religion but about relationship. Religion is man-made and it has brought a lot of suffering to the world, but Christ came to overcome the world and we are set aside as disciples of Him because of it. We are in the world, but not of the world. We are disciples, not Christians. That's how I like to look at it, though semantics is the least of it and each person's personal religious identity is up to them.

If this resonated with you or if you want to explore a relationship with God in a different way (maybe you've been wronged by religious institutions or people in the past), I invite you to send me suggestions on my inbox of the things you'd like me to cover in-depth in this new series. We're all in this together.

Daphne.

Would you guys still be interested in this project? I was thinking every Sunday in the evening EST to release a Biblical passage with relevant commentary for self-growth. In the end, said commentary could be put together and released in the form of a PDF/E-Book. If you guys want me to do this please interact with this post and let me know. At 500 notes I will begin 💖.

Elle woods isn’t going to come out of a mood board and help me with my assignments, and watching legally blonde isn’t going to get me an A in my class unless it’s an assignment in film studies. However, I believe Mood-boards aren’t just mood boards their representations of who and what you aspire to be.

There’s so many stereotypes women cannot be smart and feminine. We have to choose either beauty or brains. But that’s not true of course. Legally blonde is widely known and spoken about often in pop culture because it’s so iconic. A woman that’s blonde and that loves pink and dresses like a Barbie doll not only getting into Harvard law but maintains her femininity through out regardless of what people say and not only that but succeeding and becoming valedictorian. She was and is beauty and brains. For me when I see posts especially of women studying, getting good grades, graduating and just being successful it makes me wanna put in work and get my self together because they inspire me.

And likewise, cute pink school supplies won’t get me an A by just having them I know I will actually have to use them but I’ll most likely use them if they’re cute and in my favourite colour which is pink. You of course have to put in the work, but while doing the work to get your degree, certification, registration or etc do what you have to do to romanticize it and make it fun. Personalize it for your self. Studying and school is what you make of it. It’s the process in which things get done and how you do them.

The point of officially naming a pet is not to actually use that name but to have a baseline from which to come up with every conceivable nickname to call them instead.

You bury a seed not because it looks nice in the dirt, but because the limbs that branch out will look nice in the sky

Congrats on contributing to the ancient tumblr tradition of turning shitposts into profound poetry
