A little bit ago I was at the local grocery store near where I live and I was quite disheveled and dawned obvious signs of overall sadness and this very kind elderly woman in front of me had turned around and upon seeing me her eyes softened like how ones eyes soften at the look of a cat in an alley way lol and she asked me "oh are you all right hun" and the tone of her voice was so gentle it felt like how a mothers hug felt, the kind of embrace that unleashes the gates and lets your emotions start flooding out and in the line my chin started to quiver and the next thing I know I was sobbing. Just straight on sobbing. The very kind woman then proceeded to say "oh no sugar we can't have that" and pulled me to the side and was rubbing my arms while I sobbed into my hands and she remained there until I garnered compsore and told her the flowers I was to purchase were for my friend's funeral that I was on my way to and she then without a word brought me back into line and was making small talk with me and bought the flowers for me and walked me out to my car. It was probably the biggest act of kindness I had ever received and I think about it constantly.
