This blog is written with the assumption that you already know basic photography terminology and are familiar with the settings on your camera. It’s meant to be a basic crash course in getting your first milky way shot

do you ever want to go into space or would you rather just admire from afar?

Avatar

ABSOLUTELY! The SpaceX announcement last week about sending humans to Mars had me so hyped I almost starting packing.

Hi! I've been growing this interest in astronomy lately. I'm only 15 and unguided. I wanted to know how you stay updated with news about astronomy and what goes on above our heads. And what you do or what you read to educate yourself. love you lOads.

You have the wealth of the worlds astronomical knowledge right in your pocket. I keep up to date with news by following various science journals, blog, twitter accounts and news sites.

To educate myself I find myself regularly spending time at bookstores. I know it’s corny and cliché but there’s nothing better you can do for your mind than read. My absolute favorite book ever is “A Short History of Nearly Everything”. It changed my life honestly.

Did you learn photography by yourself or were you taught? Your pictures are truly breathtaking!

I’m 100% self taught over the past few months

What would be the one spooktacular (see what I did there) fact about space that you would tell a non space-educated person that, in your opinion, would make them think of space in a less boring, more exciting way?

Avatar

Hmmm. maybe the fact that the atoms that make up your right hand were formed in a different star than the atoms that make up your left hand. The way everything is connected and in a vast, seemingly endless universe.

Omg its so weird seeing you on here!! I remember when I first started following you and you were so young and didn't know what amazing things your future would hold. Im emotional just thinking about it ffs. Im so proud.

I’ve come a long way and it’s all thanks to you guys. I’m immensely thankful for you all ♡

what's your favorite type of dog

NEWFOUNDLAND!! They’re giant piles of joy.

What is the most confusing topic you've learned in science? (Probably none BC you're practically a genius and no, I'm not inflating your ego)

For me my weakness was always chemistry. It seems like a common theme that if you’re good at physics, you suck at chemistry and vice versa... it proved to be true in my case!

Hi. I just saw your photographs and fell in love with them. I was curious as to what kind of camera you use.

Avatar

hi thanks for your kind words! I just use a sony a6300, nothing too fancy just yet until I get better at photography and sell more prints, hint hint.
