The funniest type of tumblr users are the ones who will see a post saying something like "I love smiling at strangers on the bus" and comment "not everyone has the ability to show kindness to others you fascist #ableism" and then you look at their blog and it's all 0 note posts about how miserable and alone they are
How many more posts do we need about how ableism is sooooo funny and its ridiculous to think anyone could possibly be ableist
Yep that's exactly what I said 👍
Can y'all make this type of post without making fun of lonely people possibly??
I can't believe I have to explain this but the point of this post is not to make fun of lonely people. The point of this post is that lashing out for no reason (taking a positive post that has nothing to do with you as being a personal attack: "I love smiling at strangers on the bus" does not mean "everyone has to smile at strangers on the bus," but the people I'm talking about in this post see posts like that and take them as a personal attack on them for not smiling at strangers on the bus, and feel the need to be extremely hostile on a stranger's post that has nothing to do with them) will cause you to be lonely. You can't attack people for no reason, be generally unpleasant, refuse to even try to improve yourself and your circumstances, be mean and rude, and then turn around and say "I don't know why I'm so alone." Sure, there are uncontrollable circumstances in people's lives that will cause loneliness. I'm well aware of this. But this is a hypothetical highlighting a weird pattern of disproportionately hostile interactions that are almost always accompanied by the same person wondering why they can't make friends. A lot of tumblr users are ready to blame everyone in the world- even people who make random posts about their own lives that happen to get notes- for their unhappiness instead of taking a look in the mirror and asking themselves what they can change to improve their circumstances. I hope this helps.
