Why the fuck should you be humble? I guarantee there’s some middle-aged white dude out there who doesn’t have a fraction of your talent but who strides through life with unwavering confidence in his abilities. If he isn’t humble, you sure as shit shouldn’t be.

i'm still stuck on just not understanding why she's silent. where is she? her biggest fans literally changed their usernames to distance themselves from her and she's just ignoring it? this makes no sense to the point where it doesn't feel real
the sad thing is, this isnt the first time taylor has ignored us calling her out/voicing our concerns. we’re using her responding to the rumours of her kissing katy as an example of what she should be doing now, but thats literally the only time i can think of when she has directly responded to our concerns. amazon? nothing. the capital one card? nothing. international fans? nothing. bs with merch? nothing. the only somewhat other similar thing is cancelling the melbourne cup performance. obviously this current issue is so much more important than any of those and thats why we’re so much more hurt and upset this time. but the sad fact is she has a history of ignoring our concerns, and even though i’ve always managed to make excuses for a lot of it, the fact is she always does this. she claims we’re close but when it matters, shows that we’re not - or we are, but only when it’s convenient and beneficial. i love what she has done for us. i love taylor with all my heart and i can’t image that changing. but that’s why this hurts so much. because it’s the complete opposite of the person i believed her to be - and of the person she’s perhaps marketed herself to be also.

i know taylor is a well intentioned woman. i also know that like everyone else is, she is a work in progress. we’re all constantly finding ways to become better, kinder versions of ourselves. we’re all a work in progress. none of us are perfect and we’re all always growing. this is evidence of that. so taylor, your political activism is something you definitely need to work on. if you need a place to start, perhaps consider sharing the stories of black people as your friends selena and shawn have been doing. perhaps consider taking a look at the long lists of resources many of us have been sharing and posting them. perhaps consider an apology to your black fans. we do love you very much, and that is why your lack of activism right now hurts so much. so those are some suggestions to do better.

i don’t hate taylor. i don’t think i could ever hate taylor. i have spent years and years by her side. i love taylor so so much and that’s why this is so confusing and upsetting. she said she would be vocal and use her platform, be on the right side of history, take the muzzle off.. and now this? i hope we hear something soon. an apology, an explanation, more use of her platform, something. this doesn’t make sense to me.
remember when we called taylor out because we heard rumors that she was going to kiss katy in the yntcd mv? and she saw our posts about it and cleared things up? and she thanked us for having a relationship where we can voice our concerns with her? yeah, that’s what we are doing now. so don’t be a cupcake and say that calling taylor out and wanting her to do something different is stupid. it’s the right thing to do.

Just because America is the most vocal and visible, does not mean that black lives are not being killed every day by police in other countries. They are.
If you stand by Black Lives Matter, then realise that it is not contained to America. Don’t just be angry for the black lives lost there, be angry about the black lives lost around the world.
Stand up not just for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, David McAtee or the countless other black lives lost to police brutality in America. Stand up for the black lives lost in your countries too.
Black lives should have always, and will always matter. Not just in America, but around the world.

taylor something you could do to help (as well as speaking up about your own donations) is push the music industry’s giant corporations to donate and speak out, taylor you have so much power to create change please do at least something with it
