Hi *waves shyly* Could you recommend some ace Crowley fics? Or some where both of them are ace?

Hi there!

First, there’s a collection of aspec fics here. And here’s the asexual Crowley tag.

Crowley has waited 6,000 years to be able to spend time with his angel without fear, without their respective sides interfering. Now that he can finally just be with his angel, its the one comfort he wants. Except he keeps falling asleep.

“Crowley,” Aziraphale slapped his book shut and turned to him with a worried glance.“Have you heard anything of Raphael recently?”

Crowley thought he might choke.

All Crowley wanted was to spend a nice night in with his husband, so of course he ends up summoned by a bunch of cultists instead. Why would he expect anything different.

…This would probably be a lot easier to deal with if he wasn’t wearing Aziraphale’s fluffiest bathrobe.

Anyways lmao the iron man movies are a love letter to how capitalism and war-mongering are the true evil in this world and the fact that American fans belittle and dismiss these movies while international fans very vocally call iron man their favourite…fucking means something

ALL IM SAYING is that it’s really fucking suspicious that y'all have painted a character called “captain America” as a pillar of virtue who can never be wrong and taken the superficial characteristics of tony stark (white privileged dude in a position of power) and used THAT as a way to tear down his character build up a dude CALLED CAPTAIN AMERICA when every single iron man movie has straight up addressed how white privileged men in position of power are ALWAYS the underlying aggressors

remember that short story they made you read in school called The Lottery where the whole town gets together and just stones a motherfucker at random what the fuck was up with that

Actually, I know what was up with that!

When The Lottery (by Shirley Jackson) was first published, tons of people wrote into the newspaper that published it to demand to know what the hell it was meant to be about

I suppose, I hoped, by setting a particularly brutal ancient rite in the present and in my own village to shock the story’s readers with a graphic dramatization of the pointless violence and general inhumanity in their own lives.

So basically the story is written in such a way that the uncritical nature of the townspeople is highlighted, when it comes to their own traditions. Every year the town commits outright violent murder, but because it’s ‘normal’ to them, they don’t think of it in those terms. The reader, who isn’t part of the town’s cultural assumptions, sees the horrific nature of their actions. But the characters in the story don’t.

In essence, it’s a story about normalization (before that phrase was coined). The point is to make you think about what cruelties might be passing uncriticized in your own culture, just because they seem ‘normal’ to you. Maybe your town doesn’t stone someone to death once a year, but there are other ways for communities to kill people, or let them suffer. And some of those are just as needless and just as rooted in unquestioned assumptions about how the world works, or how society needs to operate. The people in The Lottery were hesitant to give up their tradition because they believed it guaranteed them a good harvest. Revealing, in that hesitance, that the possibility of a bad outcome was more frightening to them than an atrocity they’d normalized.

Well that explains how I related the story to homophobic behaviours in my country and got an award for writing a book report about this story talking about how it represents cruelty towards social minorities.
