Oh Allah if this matter is good for my deen, my dunya and my akhirah, grant it to me. If this matter will cause my deen, my dunya or my akhira any harm, take it away from me. Replace it with something better and make my heart content with Your decision.

It was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to make du'aa at specific places in the prayer, i.e., in sujood, between the two prostration’s and after the Tashahhud. The greatest of these is in sujood, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,

“The closest that the slave can be to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so increase your du'aa [at that time].”

(Reported by Muslim, Kitaab al-Salah, No. 215)

And he said: “… As for sujood, strive hard to make du'a’ in it, for it is bound to be answered for you.”

(Reported by Muslim, Kitaab al-Salah, no. 207).

One of the du'aas which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite in his sujood was:

“Allahumma’ghfir li dhanbi diqqahu wa jillahu wa awwalahu wa aakhirahu wa ‘alaaniyatahu wa sirrahu”

(O Allah, forgive me my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the open and the hidden).“

(Reported by Muslim, Kitaab al-Salah, no. 216).

He also used to say,

“Allahumma’ghfir li maa asrartu wa maa a’lantu”

(O Allah, forgive me what I have done in secret and done openly).

(Reported by al-Nisaa'i, al-Mujtabaa, 2/569; Sahih al-Jaami’, 1067).

And Allah presents an example of those who believed: The wife of Pharaoh Asiya when she said,

رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise.

{Surah At-Tahrim 66:11}

A story about our beloved Prophet SAW

One day a poor man brought a bunch of grapes to the holy prophet Muhammad SAW as a gift. The holy prophet SAW ate one, two, three and then the whole bunch of grapes by himself.
He did not offer grapes to anyone present.
The poor man who bought those grapes was very pleased and left.
One of the companions asked, "O Prophet of Allah SAW ! How come you ate all the grapes by yourself and did not offer to any of us present?"
The Holy Prophet SAW smiled and said, "I ate all the grapes by myself because the grapes were sour. If I would have offered you, you might have made funny faces and that would have hurt the feelings of that poor man.
I thought to myself it's better that I eat all of them cheerfully and please the poor man, I did not want to hurt the feelings of that poor old man."
Such were the manners of this most noble Prophet of Allah SAW.

Amazing advice from Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله

“A friend will not (literally) share your struggles, and a loved one cannot physically take away your pain, and a close one will not stay up the night on your behalf. So look after yourself, protect it, nurture it. Don’t give life’s events more than what they are really worth.

Be certain that when you break, no one will heal you except you; and when you are defeated, no one will give you victory except your own determination. Your ability to stand up again and carry on is your responsibility.

Do not look for your self-worth in the eyes of people; look for your worth from within your conscious. If your conscious is at peace then you will ascend high, and if you truly know yourself then what is said about you won’t harm you.

Do not carry the worries of this life, because this is for Allah. And do not carry the worries of sustenance because it is from Allah. And do not carry the anxiety for the future because it is in the Hands of Allah.

Carry one thing:

How to Please Allah. Because if you please Him, He Pleases you, fulfils you and enriches you. Do not weep from a life that made your heart weep, just say “Oh Allah compensate me with good in this life and the hereafter”. Sadness departs with a sajdah. Happiness comes with a sincere du'a. Allah does not forget the good you do, nor does He forget the good you did to others and the pain you relieved them from. Nor will He forget the eye which was about to cry but you made it laugh. Live your life with this principle: Be good even if you don’t receive good, not because of other’s sake but because Allah loves the good doers".

I haven’t said much on tumblr lately but I wanted to reach out to my brothers and sisters and ask for Duaa to be made for my mother. She has cancer again and tomorrow she’s going in for surgery to have 60% of her liver removed. For the first time I’m actually pretty nervous myself. Please keep her in your duaa. We need it.

May Allah unburden you from the sins that shackle you, the sins that have enslaved you. And may they never come after you when you are long gone. Ameen
